Belgian style farmhouse ale balances a bold, spicy yeast character with a dry hoppiness. A significant addition of malted rye adds further complexity without betraying the styles roots.

A nice, bright saison, with a nice spice (rye) and hop balance, and a definitely dry brett thing going on, especially in the aroma, though the dryness in the aftertaste is apparent as well. Very enjoyable.

KSBF 08. Big head. Funky and fruity aroma. Thick and full flavor of fruit, pepper and grain. Nice complexity. Nice beer. I'll look for this at McKenzie's.

On draft at the Glen Mills location. Poured a sparkly golden color, some slight haze, generous head with good lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, some light farmhouse funk, light fruits almost to the point of candi sugar. The flavor followed the aroma, there was a Belgian Strong Ale aspect to it, definitely hot alcohol for a saison, but good underlying brew. Some pepper notes to support it all. Mouthfeel was big but broken up by heavy carbonation. Re-rate, Dec 09 bottle shared by Chuck at SL: Pretty excellent brew, all of what it was on draft, but with an excellent bretty funky influence that made it quite nice - dare I say better? Thanks, Chuck!
