A beer to provoke political discussion. A deliciously red, white, and brewed pre-Prohibition lager of the kind brought to the great American melting pot by 19th century German immigrants who adapted their ancient recipes to use those grains commonly found on these shores. Brewed with corn.

This was OK a little different. Noticible carbonation with a distinct hoppy nose and flavor that I would expect from a pilsner. medium yellow to gold color. This is an interesting one to try but I wouldn't want it all the time.

Bottle. Poured like a semi-hazy full bodied american pale lager. Decent carbonation, pilsner looking. The aroma was bitter hops, resinous notes, grainy malts. The flavor followed the aroma, like an English Pale Ale, really (if I didn't read that it was a lager), some adjuncts mixed in there with the earthy bitter hops, one of the most bitter-hopped "pale lagers" I've seen, shy of a pilsner grass level, though. Meh, it was ok, but I don't get it, why bother with this style, MH? Craft brew or not. Well short of anything really pilsner-like, a fully flavored, top of the line pale lager, for whatever that's worth!

Smells like a hoppy pale lager. Color of pale lager but a little hazey. Hey this says it’s a lager but it immediately comes across like an IPA or imperial pilsner, hweoooo. Disappointing IPA character, that is because I don’t like IPA. Any carbonation is covered by the green grapefruit rind bitterness. Dude! I probably should have got the message on the label because participation has IPA in the word. Lingering nasty IPA finish. On IPA style, bordering on DPA. PARTICIPATION S5L3T3F203

Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry malt, dough, earthy. Tastes of pepper, dry malt, toasty hints. Not a whole lot going on here. Decent to average.
