Reserve No. 7: Weizenbock Cases Made: 1,245 Kegs Made: 18 half-barrel kegs, 1 slim keg Date Brewed: July 24, 2008 Date Bottled: September 5, 2008 Original Gravity: 1.075 Final Gravity: 1.019 Alcohol: 8.4% ABV Description: This is a dark, slightly chocolatey weizenbock with an undercurrent of bananas and cloves. There is a slight spiciness from the hops and a balanced malt that hides the strength of the beer. It was brewed with Dark Wheat, Light Wheat, Chocolate Wheat, Pilsner, Munich, Special B and Chocolate malts and Northern Brewer hops. We used a traditional Bavarian hefeweizen yeast which gives the beer its distinctive clove and banana character. It is unfiltered. Enjoy at 45°F or warmer. We are curious to see how this beer will age.

Bottled@Chriso Gaylord Tasting. Deep amber colour, small head. Aroma is wheat, alcohol, dry fruits and some slight notes of alcohol as well. Flavour is wheat, plum, mild acidic notes as well as some chocolate and mild alcoholic notes as well.

Bottle courtesy of Bu11zeye: Poured a deep cloudy brown color lager with a large medium brown foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of banana and deep caramel/toffee malt is very interesting. Taste is a very nice mix between a solid caramel and toffee malt backbone with a nice touch of banana ester. Balance between sweetness and ester is well mastered with a full body with limited filtration and no alcohol was discernable. One of the best beer form the Divine series.

A great weizenbock. This is so different from any of the other divine reserves that Saint Arnold has released. It has the lowest ABV, lightest aroma, but probably the smoothest released. The banana flavor is very evident and there is a slight clove aftertaste as the description indicates. This beer is very unique to the Saint Arnold brewing company but this is a divine and has its own special qualities. Pours an opaque, almost black color with about an inch of head that is a dark cream color that will lace the glass. The aroma is on the light side but you can tell that this beer has been cared for very well by the aroma. Try it an enjoy it. The beer's lesser but more distinct qualities come out as you empty your glass.

after a long day of handling out this beer, i finally get to come home and have some... Poured into my Saint Arnold wheat glass, pours a dark brown-ruby ... good lacing ... quite a bit of different flavours, cloves, banana, chocolate covered raisins ... a spot on weizenbock, but i seem not to enjoy it as much as the other divines, which is strange because as i drink it i know its full of quality! ... that being said, i look forward to seeing how it does over the next few months.... cheers saint arnold - you bring beer excitement to Houston! ...
