Made with three styles of fresh American hops and fruity ale yeast that requires greater fermentation, it finishes with a dark amber appearance, spicy hop flavor and bold, malty backbone. The punch this potent brew packs reminds us all that when you want to make a point, you're better off making a statement.

Pours a dark red amber with a one finger head that seems to loft a bit. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is Belgian like, with a strong note of yeast and sweet malts. Taste is dry and sticky with hints of fruits. Fairly strong booziness is well hidden but not unoticed. Fairly good brew.

Pours a huge frothy brownish head, very bubbly and gives off nice dirty lacing. Has a coppery appearance with red hues. Very malty and hoppy aromas, with breads, pine and mild vanilla. Flavours are well balanced hops and malts. Citrus and light floral hops, toasty and nutty malts. Spices and notes of caramel also comes through. Alcohol is a little bit noticeable. Nice bitterness on the palate and good balance between sweet and bitter. Somewhat creamy. Slick and oily mouthfeel with a tingling, warming sensation. Great stuff!

Yes, 651ml written on front label (8.5% ABV and bottled on 30/01/13). Pours a dark copper colour with a big beige fluffy head that stays really long and gives out foamy lace. Beautiful hoppy nose with some roasted malts, mild dark fruits, light apples and caramels. No burning, but a nice warming alcohol. Thick mouthfeel with a light dry finish. The hop is nicely present across the flavours. Spices, fruits and the sweet malt is not so sweet in the taste. Hints of coffee enventually come out in the aftertaste. I have to save this is quite a nice different brew, being a nice strong beer with darker malts, but still, quite hoppy. A must try.

650 ml bottle: pours a beautiful hazed mahogany with ruby highlights. Pleasing 2 finger frothy off-white cap lasts. Aroma is also very pleasant with a fruity-citrus-roasty-nutty discernment. Rich big body, sturdy mouth feel. Flavour is big with roastiness, fruity piney hopping and fruity esters some tobacco and nuts in a cereal conflate. Long wet finish with some increased bittering. This is a great American strong ale or reserve ale - it has many qualities of a barley wine with the drinkability of a dark ale.

The beer pours a translucent dark copper colour with a creamy tan coloured head. Aroma is caramel, citrus, and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is weak grapefruit hops, caramel, and grain. Not too sweet and not too bitter.

Sent by heybeerman a while back, and shared at a recent local tasting. Excellent fruitiness that stands out from a nice grainy and nutty malt content. I get the impression of a traditional English Strong Ale mixed with American hop varieties. Great looking pour providing for a rocky tan head and a nice coating of lacing. A depth of malt flavors followed by a strong fading hoppiness. Thanks Greg, it was enjoyed by all.

The first time I had this it set with me as just liquory, then I took some, set it out at room temp for 20 minutes and the magic started to happen. A rabbit popped out of the top, followed by a moose and then godzilla, But seriously this is not a refrigerator beer. There are more complex flavors once it warms up.

From Central City, in a bomber. "Pure Milwaukee Genius" says the label. Okay, I'm in. Dark copper pour with a four-fingered tan head. Malt aroma, not strong, and alcohol. Smooth and solid mouthfeel. Flavour was lots of malt sweetness, caramel, and alcohol. Balanced finish. Could almost be a lower case barleywine.

Wasn't exactly sure what I was getting when I picked this up. Pour is dark amber with an off-white head. Slightly hoppy aroma with pine and citrus hops. Heavy on the malt sweetness, the flavor is much more balanced than the aroma would have you believe. More sweet than bitter. 12 oz would have been better than 22.

A pretty deep copper beer with a lively hop fruit nose that really jumps out of the glass. A lighter body for a strong ale, malt body is lacking. Flavor is mostly resin, not very complex. Not bad beer but not spectacular either.
