Silver Medal Winner 1997 World Beer Championships - India Pale Ales. This flavorful beer is made in the style of the India Pale Ale Style originally manufactured in Great Britain for their colonies in India, but with an American twist. The harsh travel that the beer had to survive required a strong, hoppy beer. The Hops and the high level of alcohol helped buffer the beer through its long travels. Made with flavorful and full bodied Pale Ale malt combined with a touch of caravienne for color and carapils for body, the rich flavor of this beer is matched and enhanced by a very generous portion of Centennial and Cascade hops. The Cascades give this beer its distinctive floral aroma and a uniquely American character.

Nice copper-amber pour with a pillowy head and lacing on end. Bittery hoppy with a floral nose and a hint of spice and malt. Thick to the pallette on the front transitioning to a smooth clean finish with just a hint of grapefruit after taste.

Sampled on draft thanks to Dansting. Pours copper with a creamy tan head and nice lace. Pleasant citrus, floral and toasted bread aroma. Balanced up front with a bitter finish which lingers for quite some time. Not as much hops in the middle as the aroma or finish would indicate, but they are present with some spice and citrus. Clean yeast and some lightly toasted malts yield a pleasant, easy to drink pale ale. Worth trying and I would enjoy it often if I were in the KC area.

This one is from pfoxyjohn's beer cooler in the Barrrn via OktoberPfist: Nice clear copper amber pour with a fluffy cream head and nice lacing. Slightly sweet malt aromas at first then some caramel and a earthy hops presence. Taste is very smooth and malt-forward with a nice bit of sweetness followed by an understated hops bitter with little linger. Very smooth, very nice, extremely drinkable. Thanks John.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This IPA pours a light gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, malty and sweet. A medium bodied India Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and floral. Good carbonation, Crisp and clean. Medium bitter IPA. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Thanks to the Kansas guys from bringing a growler up for me. The beer was preserved perfectly. Pours a clear amber color with a heavy white head. Subtle hops in the aroma with some malt sweetness. Balanced flavor with hints of caramel, bread, and hops. Nice lacing.

On tap at Barley's with Dansting, TimmyK, and Caddy. Pours a coppery pale color with a very nice initial head, excellent lacing, a great start for Kansas. The aroma was hoppy, citrus and pine hops taking stage center, and done in tandem very nicely. Flavor does the same, again just a nice meld of those two hop qualities, nice malt presence, but not one that adds a lot of flavor behind the hops. Mouthfeel was dead on, moderate overall, perhaps heavy within style. Cheers to my Kansas pals.

nice appealing copper color with light lace and a light head. very light aroma - you can not tell that this is a hoppy beer at all, but the hops sneak up on you like samarai! too hoppy for me, but if you like hops - check this brew out!

Smelle of earthy and citric hops, with a nice juicy APA mouthfeel. The flavor and bitterness from the hops worked great with the very slightly sweet malty body. Bready, yeastiness came midglass with toasted maltiness behind the up front hops. Very nice.
