A light to medium bodied deep golden ale that starts with an elegantly creamy malt complexity and ends with a firm but understated hop finish that balances the initial sweetness with a touch of bitterness.

I'm surprised I'm the first to review the Orlio Organic Common Ale considering it is a pretty nice brew. I had it for the first time on draught at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY and I was pretty impressed.

The beer has a dark amber color, with a reddish hue to it. When served on draught it has a light white head that stays glazed over the top for the duration of the drink, leaving behind some nice lacing on the side of the glass as it is consumed. The aroma was a little on the weak side as the beer was first served, but as it warmed up, a nice light hoppy smell started to emit from the glass.

The beer drinks very well in the sense that it is very smooth and has an awesome drinkability. It even leaves you with a hint of dryness on the back end. The hops are prevalent in the flavor, but also there is an element of maltiness thrown in there that was not apparent in the aroma. So pretty much as the description on this beer says, this beer is initially sweet, but ends up with a touch of bitterness.

Overall, I think this is a very enjoyable drink and look forward to having some cold Orlio Common in my fridge in the near future. Give it a try if you run across it.
