A Christmas beer from Grauballe Bryghus. Brewed with honey from Brazilian Orange trees, light malts, orange peel, and just a bit dark caramel malt. A cold mashing and a cold heating to 77 degrees Centigrade gives the beer a good body. Boiled with Cascade and other hop varieties, that is added over 3 times, as was originally done, makes the beer complex, where the hops balances with the spicy aromas from oranges and honey. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, to keep all flavors and allow for futher development in the keg.

500 ml bottle, now available in Norway at Vinmonopolet. ABV is 6.0%. Ingredients include 2% orange flower honey, E223 and E300. Golden brown colour, big light tan head with an orangey hue. Unusual and initially interesting aroma of orange peel, spices, oak, fermenting fruits and apple cider vinegar, then some less pleasant "industrial" and sulphurous notes take over. The flavour has caramel and some honey sweetness, with notes of orange peel and undefined fruits. Very little bitterness. Props to Grauballe for brewing unusual beers, but this one doesn't blow my socks off.

Light brown colour, white creamy foam. Light chocolate, oranges, metal and biscuit in aroma. Biscuity and rather lifeless flavour of caramel, oranges and alcohol. Orange-peels and alcohol in the aftertaste.
