Dark brown pour, decent head and a little lacing. Smoke was the primary flavor with hints of roast, coffee and chocolate. Nice mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Poured a dark brown-black color, ruby-red hues when held to light. The head was stingy initially but had decent retention. Lacing was weak. The aroma was chocolate, coffee, some licorice. Flavor was chocolate, coffee, nice roast reinforcement, some licorice. Really a smooth mouthfeel after it warmed. Started this thing at about 40F, was way too thin and the flavors weren't robust (in fact, I thought it was a bad porter at that point). Everything began to impress as it got to appropriate temperatures. In the end, nice stateside schwarzbier.
