We call Beer Esteem a California Common because it is brewed with a lager yeast and it is fermented at warmer ale temperatures. However, Beer Esteem is distinctly different from other California Commons. With a unique hop profile, a lager yeast not typically used for the style, and a "Russian River" twist, Beer Esteem is anything but "Common.

Sampled during RBSG 7/11/2009 on tap at the brewery. This California Common pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet. A medium bodied California Common. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and floral. Big full mouthfeel with a softer carbonation. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

On tap. Beer is a dark orange hue, hazy with a 1" off-white head. Aroma is light dried fruits and caramel malts. A nice blend of fruits and malts with the flavor with a slight puckering quality to it. Very easy to drink.
