This hoppy German-style Pilsner is winning the hearts of local brewery loyalists and national award show judges. And its earned the starring role at our anniversary parking lot bash this summer. Moving into the summer months, Deschutes Brewery is celebrating its 18th Anniversary by releasing a Pilsner by the same name. The newest beer in the Bond Street Series, 18th Anniversary Pilsner is a light, refreshing lager that is brewed mostly with Saaz hops from the Czech Republic and 100% Pilsner malt. Eighteenth Anniversary Pilsner might be a bit hoppy for a traditional pilsner but it maintains a delicate flavor profile that showcases our state-of-the-art German brew house and our brewers’ passion for this style of beer.

A quality beer even if it’s been awhile since it’s been bottled. The aroma is quite sweet, grassy with a bready touch. Flavor is noble hops, with a soft citrus angle...extremely quick and clean finish. Looks a bit odd in the glass, almost like a watere-down lemonade...and odd pale yellow color and a big fluffy white head. Nice beer.

Ok served in the 22oz bomber. Nice label of a brewery. Really rather pedestrian in appearance pale gold, small head that dissapears in seconds. Aroma is faint but pleasing hoppy, spicy..but again hardly there. taste is a little better than the aroma but the bitterness dominates too much, not much of a show from the malts at all, but happily its a pleasant tasty bitter note . Average mouthfeel, typical lager. The best part about this , is it is very easilly drinkable. I have to say though I am a triffle dissapointed with this one. I was expecting it to be as good as the Pine Mountain Pils, but it doesnt seem to have the same malt backing . Maybe I just left this bottle in my hot car too long this morning. Probably try another soon.

This pilsner pours a light yellow color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is bready, floral hops with a touch of spices. A light to medium bodied German style Pilsner. Malts are cereal, grain and grass. Hops are floral and slightly spicy. Light and refreshing. Crisp and spicy. It’s a very mild tasting pilsner, but its not watery. Has a touch of a hop bite to it. A very drinkable beer on a warm summer day. Nice example of the style. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
