Great summer wheat from the Smutty. Not the typical bland American version, but not quite as fruity and spicy as the Bavarian kind.......this borders between the Axis & Allies with a little help from Belgium mixed in. Sparkling golden yellow body, huge frothy white head and a thick coating of lacing. Grass and biscuits with an enjoyable fruitiness. A touch of orange, clove, and coriander perhaps with a splash of lemon. Dry and light bodied. Easy drinking on the back patio. Great whether the sun is up or after it has set.....

Purchased in NY City, but enjoyed in Albany, NY. Pours a golden colour with an average lasting white head. Becomes a little hazy near the last pour. Mild wheat aromas. Taste is the same with a tad of hoppiness in the finish. Not bad, but a little too mild. Refreshingly "easy-drinking" summer ale.

From d3atlanta. Hazy orange-yellow pour with an average white head and some residual lacing. Light yeasty aroma with hint of banana esters, some wet wheats, slight honey sweet scent. Flavor is refreshing and pleasant although light, sweet wheat and honey, light banana and fruits, a tad thin but still tasty. Thanks Sam.

This a good summer seasonal brew. A little different than the traditional Hef. Flavor has some coriander spice added to the wheaty-banana notes. Decent hop bitter finish...some citrus in there. At first wasn't that into this, but by the last sample grew on me a bit. Wouldn't really rush to try this again...interesting to try though and good to pair with lighter meal on a hot summer day.

A crystalline clear golden yellow colored ale. Lots of bubbles rising in the glass. I didn’t get much of a head. Whitish, frothy. Settled into an unimpressive lacing. I got wheat and a funky citrus. Light body. Some smoothness. Acidic aftertaste sticks in the mind.

From a bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is more hefe than american wheat. Flavor follows suit. Sweet with banana undertones. Not a fan of this style, but a decent beer overall.

A dissapointing brew from the folks at Smuttynose, which suprises me. Maybe it's because ive had so many hefe's lately, that an american wheat is kind of a let down. partly cloudy, golden large white head. soft fruit aromas, semi citrusy. a lot of pear i notice in the flavor. mouthfeel is pretty malted. vague hints of sweetness, with long honey finish. subtle hops

Crystal clear yellow golden pour with minimal head and no lacing. Weak musty aroma. Flavor is weak and watery wheat, rather nondescript. Bland a dull, like most American wheats. Blah.

Nothing more than an average wheat. Cloudy, decent head retention. Yeasty taste. An all-over average beer. SLight citrus aftertaste. I've had better commercial wheat beers. just seemed to miss the boat for an american wheat- left lacking

First impression was "this is gonna be good..." since this had the aroma of a Schneiderweisse hefe. Well, things didn't quite pan out.... Head is pretty well established; good retention with mild lacing. Nicely chewy, but vapid in both full mouthfeel, roundness, and flavor. Odd aftertaste as well--can't quite place it. Needs a fair amount of work.
