Layla Dirty Blonde Lager

Pours up clear copper with minute long off white head. The aroma hits first with grainy malts and cereal before noble floral and spicy hops take over. I think I get a background of earthiness in there too. The taste has a pulse of sweet sugar flavored malts first that are quickly consumed by mild grains, floral and spice hops bitterness. The floral hops and grains run into the finish with a hint of earthiness picking up somewhere along the way and hanging into the after taste. Interesting brew and pretty decent for the style.

I sure did not know what to expect out of this beer, having heard nothing about it at all. I like the slight fruity smell and light sweetness in this beer. I also think this beer is very smooth and nicely balanced with semi-sweetness and a unique bitterness in the aftertaste. A medium body and a great lacing here. I think this beer is one of the finer lagers around, not at all over powering or watery either. I thought this was an interesting beer from the second taste on. I would reccommend this beer.

Poured a caramel color, much more impressive than I was expecting for a "Pale Ale," although the bottle called itself a dark lager. The aroma was a bit off, slight skunk, light caramel. Flavor was some caramel, actually really sweet and corny caramel. Just like your average pale ale, not disgusting, but nothing to return to.

Had a deep gold color,with a large light head. Had a real strong lager taste. It wasn't horrid but not sure if I'd get another one. It was worth a shot. Nothing to write home about.

From a bottle. I got this because I thought a beer from Israel would be interesting. I was wrong. It is just like a lot of imported lagers. Poured a clear golden color with a thick, white head. Skunky aroma similar to Heineken. Tastes like a flat Beck's. Worth getting in a mixed six-pack so you can add Israel to your "Countries Tried" reviews, but that's about it.
