This is one of the better saisons I've tried. A cloudy golden orange pour with no head. Yeast and funk dominate the aroma. The flavour was mild, earthy, yet still refreshing. A lot of light fruit hints.

really? this is supposed to be a saison? i'll score it even lower for not even distinguishing itself enough to get the style right. i thought it was just an un-tasty badly spiced ale (which it still is)...not a good saison, or beer.

Poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a decent enough head. Aroma and taste were both very confusing. I sensed white raisins and some spices I can't quite figure out. No alcohol sensation at all. Decent enough to try once but IMO not really worth a premium price.

Bottle: Poured a deep dirty orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma of spicy yeast with a good Belgian style malt and some weird conflicting spices. Taste is also a weird mix between some Belgian style malt with some weird spices mix and a spicy yeasty finish. Full body with average carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Definitely lacking some typical Saison ester and very unfocused (seems to be a cross between a Saison, Tripel, Wit and a Belgian Strong Ale). Not the best from this usually good brewery.

I've had good saisons, bad saisons and middle of the road saisons. This fits squarely in the "middle of the road" catergory. The nose is malty sweet, with a bit of light fruits and spices coming off it. Nothing overwhelming or outstanding. Appearance is a hazy orange color with lots of floaties..uh...floating about. The flavor was just not interesting enough to get higher marks. Heavy yeast (perhaps that's the floaties) really trumps the fruits that are there but can't escape the yeast's shadow. Slightly spicy with a tannic finish. Far from being a drainpour, but far from being a repeat purchase too.

Pours a hazy copper color, with a pillowy slightly off white head, that is slow to fade to a nice cap that sticks around. The lace is only moderate. Smell; has a bit of a sour yeasty smell with some orange citrus thrown in, and a litlle peppery spiciness. Taste; it's a bit sour and tart, a litlle citrusy, and a litlle sipcy, and there's a litlle bit of the funkiness that I associate with a Saison, but there's not one flavor that seems to jump out at me like it should. Mouthfeel is slightly thin and a touch oily. Overall it's a little disapointing. I just don't find any of the flavors to stand out that much, and I just don't think I depicts the style all that well. Even without taking style into consideration, this is not that good a beer,

Eh, I want to blame this one on the Mytrle leaves, so I will. Rough bitterness and out of whack herbal, citrus and spicy (phenolic) flavors were just generally disjointed and unpleasant. Pours deep gold with no foam after just a few seconds despite lots of CO2. Not an excellent work, but I like the offbeat effort, for sure, but I'll be sticking to Santa's Private Reserve.

The aroma is very nice and it pours a dark brown color that is very nice. Head is limited if poured right. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth and flavor is not bad with a lot of hops and spices included to make an interesting brew.

Poured a cloudy orange color. Needless to say I dont want to start comparing it to what it looked like since it might get ugly. Had a bitter hop bite to it and the first few drinks tasted of citris, orange and a bit of honey. There was some thing hat I kept tasting in the back of my throat that I could not recognise with this beer. Upon empyting the rest of the bottle into my glass I received all of the sediment on the bottom. this turned the beer into a orange smoothy. Needless to say I could not even finish it since it was so bitter and strong. I was not expecting so much sediment on the bottom. This is one of the worst beers I think Rogue has made. Will not buy this again.

Sampled on draft at Rogue Public House, Portland. Pours clear copper with a collared white head. Aroma is mild malt and bubble gum. Balanced cotton candy flavor. Pretty one-dimensional and a somewhat under-attenuated. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Not the best saison, but still a good beer.
