This mahogany coloured beer has a caramel malt bouquet accompanied by the light aroma of hops. The caramel malt taste sails wonderfully into the mouth alongside a fruity taste brought about by a trio of hops.

341ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, Gatineau. Pours a big foamy beige head with thick bubbly lacing. Has a murky brownish appearance. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of barley malt, light yeast. Flavours are mostly dark/dried fruits, a little bit of yeast, wheat and herbal notes. Very subtle smokey hints. Somewhat of fizzy and drying mouthfeel.

Slightly hazed amber colour with a soapy beige head that stays a little while, and lacing is dirty and nice. Floral nose over caramel malt base with some hints of dark fruits. The hops are nicely balanced in the flavours giving some smooth dryness with grassy notes. The caramel base is mild and not sweet, so goes down easily. Still, lots going on here and very complex for an ESB. Pretty hazy at last pour with fine particles. Quite good!

Mondial de la Bière 2009. On tap at the brewpub. Poured a cloudy reddish amber brown colored ale with a small white foamy head that had a good retention. Some lacing. Poor carbonation. The aroma is caramel malts, yeasty and fruity, apricots, citrus. The flavour is sweet caramel malts, fruity, dried raisins, citrus then a solid hoppy bitterness. The palate is very smooth. This medium bodied ale has a quick spicy and bitter finish. Very tasting and refreshing.

Sampled March 8/06 off cask. First impression was this beer's dark colour, a deep brown in most angles, slightly lighter shades at others. Some medium head. Very typical cask mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Some notes of cask in the aroma and taste which added a welcomed character. Flavour was in many respects empty, lacking any solid definition and not all that tasty enough to be considered a good session. It's one area of strength was a medium-bodied bitterness, which would smack your taste buds when going down the back of your throat. Good choice of hops that left the beer with a considerable lasting finish. Overall however, nothing higher than average - at best.

07.09.05, 07.11.05 Cask at brewpub, RBSG. Sparkling clear copper brown. Mineral and flower buds, I found this to be a mood improving tonic. Very floral, perhaps too sweet but nice sharp finish. Mineral feel coats rof of mouth. Head lasts to bottom. Beautiful beer.

This one poured with an adequate head that laced, but didn't sustain well. Mouthfeel was lacking carbonation (cask). Aroma was of a slighly floral scent, but the flavor was an excellent blend of maltiness with only mild bitterness (somewhat cedar or wood-like). Very tasty.
