S'muttonator is a tasty mixture of German ingredients and good ol' fashioned New England tenaciousness. Our brewers take 30 hours to brew a single batch of this traditional Double Bock. Take your time and enjoy its rich, malty, and deceptively smooth flavor.

kinda of a high abv for a traditional doppelbock, but it totally works. Another standout from a solid brewer. loved the light, esrthy hops and the layers of malt in the nose and flavor. VERY drinkable for a strong brew. Thanks heybeerman!

A big boozy nose with some cider and typical malty bock notes. Very fizzy, almost no head that lasts, murky red Brown beer. The fizz makes the mouthfeel too light for the style in my opinion. A tasty beer with great balance but no real unique character. It is bittered nicely and I appreciate that, too many of this style are just overly sweet.

pours a light murky brown color and the head was an off white large and was rocky in appearance that dissipated quickly and left very little lacing behind. The aroma has a big sweet presence in the form of caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, maple soaked dark fruits and some molasses. There is a bready component mixed with big time malts. The taste had at the front of the tongue the sweet, sweet malts shine in the form of caramel and toffee malts. It has a bready and yeast taste that follows. At the back end there is an interesting spice that leads into a mild alcohol burn. The mouthfeel is a malty creamy bomb that is very smooth. At the same time the carbonation prevents the sweetness from taking over and making this cloyingly sweet. I do get a mild alcohol burn on the swallow.

Big Beer Series bomber, and none from this series has yet to let me down. Always in the mood for a Doppelbock, this was opened without hesitation. Chestnut colored body with a diminishing head and little lacing. Medium bodied with a sturdy kick, sweet and slinky. Figs, raisins and blackberries start this one off and are followed by bear claws and multi-grain bread. Aftertaste is a touch boozy, but soon withdraws. A hint of rum and wood. Mildly complex with the traditional style elements.

An orange amber colored beer with a big frothy textured light orange colored head rising robusty above. There's some hang time. Settles into a medium ringlet and light splotches of film. Toffee-caramel sweetness. Some nuttiness. Light medium bodied. Overall, a little too sweet.

Aroma is rich and malty with a nice nutty, rye-ish and toasty undertone - very appetizing. It pours a nice clear mahogany with a thick, frothy, pale tan head. So far, so good. Flavor has a strong rye overtone, a malty core, and caramel, grassy and nutty hints. Yummy! Texture is quite smooth but rough around the edges, leaving a nice tingle and a grassy/rye finish. Recommended!

Dark pour, nice two finger head and lacing that left its presence in the mug. Overly sweet, bordering on sickly. Some nice ashy burnt notes which helped this out. My Salt & Vinegar chips helped the sweetness tone down. It was a mistake to drink this whole bomber myself. I could have appreciated this more in a smaller dose.

Pours with a deep amber-red body topped by a thick head with some lacing. It’s sweet and malty with nice caramel and toffee notes and an underlying hoppiness. Medium to full bodied and smooth.

Clear reddish brown colour, small tan head. Deep malty aroma of nuts, cherries, cookies and burnt sugar. Hearty and very malty flavour of nuts, toasted bread, burnt sugar and alcohol. Full bodied. Long, hearty warming aftertaste.

Bottle: Poured a clear nut-brown dopplebock with a huge foamy head with excellent retention. Huge aroma of freshly baked banana bread is quite just unbelievable. The freshly baked banana bread with a good slightly sweet malt backbone also dominates taste. Alcohol is well hidden and body is just above average with some medium carbonation. Definitely one of the best dopplebock I ever had.
