12 oz bottle, 2014 version. Pours brown with no head or carbonation.

The aroma is baker's chocolate, bourbon, black licorice, roast and some dark fruit with slightly harsh alcohol.

The flavor is sweet chocolate malts, dark fruit, roast and some strong bourbon alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with no carbonation.

Overall, very interesting with a ton going on. A little harsh on the alcohol for me. A nice decadent dessert beer,

Another ridiculously amazing beer sampled on 12/16! somehow spent 3-4 YEARS in barrels, but the bourbon character, while quite obvious, is not overwhelming, and is quite complimentary. liked this way more than the regular Adam, which is already a good brew...but this one is elite! super smooth, and i kept retuning my nose to the glass for that bourbony goodness. too bad we split a 12 oz.

From a bottle. Pours a hazy brown with an enormous white head. Seriously, took me 5 minutes to pour this because no matter how carefully I did it, the head kept trying to overflow. Aroma is sweet, heavy on the molasses with fruit and vanilla. Flavor is excelent. Sweet and tart with just a hint of the bourbon from the barrels it was aged in. Only got three bottles of this at the brewery, and I wish I'd gotten more of it.

1.5l bottle sampled at the 2008 RBSG. This ale pours a medium brown color from the bottle. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is malt, caramel, wood, bourbon and brown sugar. A medium to full bodied ale. The malts are caramel, brown sugar and vanilla. The hops are earthy. Hides the alcohol very well. Hints of chocolate, dark fruit and oak. Nice balance. Very smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

Pours a murky brown that is almost black. Vanilla and big alcohol make up the aroma with some toffee. It's a little sour. A bit of coffee in the finish and a touch of honey.

Thanks to MrFacto for bringing this one down. A big maple syrup and whiskey aroma. It poured a dark brown color with almost no head. The flavor is maple syrup, whiskey, chocolate, raisins, caramel, etc etc. Very thick and complex. A very warming beer. Awesome!

This pours a very dark brown with no head. The aroma is very strong with sweet cherries, raisins, vanilla and an oak nuttiness. Also some earthy mushroom notes come out as it warms. The taste is a very strong molasses with vanilla, oak and bourbon. An alcoholic finish and a thin mouth feel. Certainly an interesting one. A little goes a long ways.

Pours with a dark brown body with no head or lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet, very oaky and malty with gingerbread notes and some caramel. Similar flavor iwth sour notes. Full bodied, smooth and warming.
