Summit Oktoberest

I liked this because it had good spice taste but not of pumpkin. I tasted clove and nutmeg and just a hint of either pear or apple not sure which. Beer was watery but I didn't mind I found it interesting.

A nice clean well-balanced marzen. Has some strength, but not quite an imperial which is usually too sweet for me. Light brown/orange clear appearance. Not too heavy on the caramel malt. Glad to try different ones in this style around this time of year. If it was regular strength, would be forgettable, but for 7.3% and decent quality, I'd consider buying again.

Enjoyed this while in Minneapolis for an Iowa football game. Can't remember the name of the bar but anyway, a real solid Oktoberfest beer with the perfect amount of malts balanced by a slight amount of hops. Nice copper pour with a white head. Nice smooth malty taste and finish. A nice fall brew.

A deep amber colored beer, with a big foamy textured, white head rising above. There's some hang time. It settles into a thick ringlet. Bready malt in a light nose. Bigger malt and some grassiness in the tasting. Light, effervescent bodied. Not bad.

Sept. 2010 - By far the best beer from the Fall variet pack. Golden amber color, crystal clear with two finger frothy head in my mug. Toasty aroma. The flavor was toasted caramel malt, sweet and doughy with a crisp lager bite. The line was properly toed on sweetness making this a very good example of what this style should be.

Courtesy of Phishpond. Pours a nice clear medium amber with a medium head and some nice lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas are earthy with malts, then some caramel and hops. Taste is malty with a slight alt-like flavor.

First Oktoberfest of 2008--at the brewery in August. One of Summit's best offerings (along with the EPA) although I've had better oktoberfests. Solid beer; very smooth and earthy, very true to the style. A mainstay for cool North Dakota fall evenings.

Flavor of this beer is very earthy indeed. Pours a clear amber body with a thin white head. little to no lacing. Carmel, grass and asparagus in the aroma. Flavors are somewhat nutty. Very lightly carbonated mouthfeel. noticable almond flavor.

Bottled. Golden colour, beige small head. Aroma is hops hops, some caramel malts and a bit earthyness. Flavour is very much the same. Wellbalanced, but not the most interesting brew.

Very attractive amber body, but there isn't much of a head. The aroma is definitely malty, with plenty of alcohol and some hops playing a supporting role. Sweet, toasted caramel malt, hops, and alcohol all present in the flavor (hmm, sort of like the aroma, I guess). The carbonation is lively, and seems to fit the style. Smooth on the tongue, with an above-average weight. A good beer to have while relaxing on an Autumn evening.
