A rich, chocolaty English Porter with a clean finish. We use the finest floor-malted Maris Otter malts from England, the same malts used for the best single-malt scotch. A portion of malted rye gives a spicy, slightly dry finish. Food Pairings The rich, chocolate notes pair well with the carmelized surface of steaks, pork tenderloins and lamb, but save this beer for dessert if you’re having chocolate or crème brulée. A delicious DUDE brew trade from bluesandbarbq. Very dark in color. A strong berry aroma! Tastes tingly with hints of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Had to sample my PA Dutch Turkey Syrup molasses while I drank this one with Qat to see how authentic the molasses taste was in this brew. Cat and I agreed this would be an easy beer to go with a meal; not filling at all! Thanks Lou for the Yazoo!

A gift from bluesandbarbq & mwiscount. Coffee dark and clear, served without a head. Aromas of molasses, alfalfa, and a hint of berry-- this is something different. Mild flavor is subtle and delicious: sweet and sour like molasses and a little herbal. Very fine carbonation, but a lot of it-- terrific feel, smooth and wet.

Another nice malty treat from Lou, thanks for a nice shipment. Sly Rye pours a moderate brown color with a quater inch head and splotchy lacing. Assertive roasted malt nose, lightly smoky followed by chocolate and coffee. Medium bodied, dry and malty. Accents of leather and peat followed by dark fruits provide for a great overall profile. Very nice porter, flavorful and drinkable.

A very classic porter I thought, very nice and drinkable pretty much all the time. I can't say that I noticed the rye all that much, I think the roasted malts played more of a dominant part in the flavor profile. Thanks to Lou for another Yazoo, a brewery i'd like to get to know better.

I thought the rye worked well in the porter and overall I thought the beer was well balanced, perhaps even a bit bold for a porter but the mouthfeel was kept light as a porter should be.

This poured a black color with a moderate beige head, nice. The aroma contains a lot of milk chocolate, some coffee, and a hint of dark fruits. The flavor is pretty much the same. The finish is on the sweet side. Maybe a hint of rye flavor in the there. I was tasting something I couldnt put my finger on. Overall a nice porter.

A decent porter. A deep dark brown color with a thin tan head. Nose of chocolate, dark fruit, and rye. Flavor is a mixture of roasted malt, rye, and coffee. Too heavy on the rye flavor for a 5.7% beer.

Deep brown-black pour with a tan head and some lacing. Sweet and slightly smoky aroma with dark chocolate, some java, roasted malts. Taste is like the aroma - with a light sweet creaminess and cocoa flavor along with a very slight smokiness. Finishes dry.

Appearance - Poured dark brown with tan head. Good aroma - chocolate and rye. Flavor - chocolate, rye, spices. Average mouthfeel. Very tasty porter. I'll have it again.

Pours with a dark brown body topped by a meidum thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a touch of bitter sweet chocolate. Rather weak. Medium bodied and smooth.
