Wouldn't it suck to have a job where nobody likes you? And, regardless of your name, people always call you Rita, as in "Lovely Rita?" Sometimes people just shorten it to the simpler "meter maid." The funny thing about that is the Webster dictionary defines a "meter maid" as "a female member of a police department who is assigned to write tickets for parking violations." You have to wonder how the male "meter maids" feel about that! Parking Violation is an American style pale ale using lots of American hops, lots of quarters, and several trips back and forth to the parking lot. So, remember to drink responsibly and feed your meter. Rotational release

Enough hops that I still wonder if 42 ibus is a mistake. great balance, though. this is way better than your average pale...more aromatic, more flavor, and better balance. quite good. If it weren't for their amazing IPAs and barrel aged belgians, it's worth a pint.

With Vinnie's connections to San Diego county going all the way back to when Temecula's Blind Pig Brewery was a small yet impressive force to be reckoned with, it's no great surprise that Russian River makes it a point to ensure that Tom at O'Brien's always has a few tasty Russian River offerings available at all times. And while all of the various Russian River Belgian-esqe beers are all quite tasty, it's the American Pale Ales and IPAs that I most often go for these days.
Specifically, this particular beer made for a nice quaffing/session beer last night during the monthly Foam On The Brain (homebrew club) meeting at O'Brien's. Nothing too outlandishly over-the-top, but in no way routine, either.
Pretty standard bronze-ish/golden appearence -- perhaps a touch on the paler side of Pale.
Quite floral in the hops -- is this going to be yet another hop-bomb....? (I'm currently in a stage of my drinkerhood that I have to say that I'm currently pretty bored with mega-ultra-uber "hop-monsters").
But thankfully, this is quite controlled in the bitterness. Yes, still more backend bitterness than, say, the typical English Pale Ale. But compared to the "standard" American Pale Ales out there, this is down-right tame, and -- to quote McDonald's rather annoying ad campaign -- "I'm loving it".
Immensely drinkable, what with the carefully tuned hop-profile, the complex mouthfeel, and the "damn, that one went down nice..., let's get another!" drinkability.
Yes, yet another winner from Russian River.... :)

This brew pours with an orange-gold body topped by a thin head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet bitter and fruity. Not overly aromatic. Damn! can we say bitter. The flavor is bitter, piney and hoppy with peppery notes and a slight grassiness. Medium bodied, smooth and slightly warming.
