Especially refreshing and effervescent, high-stability beer with a pronounced taste and pleasant bitterness. In addition to traditional ingredients, rice is used in the production of Obolon Premium. This is one the most popular beer brands due to its mild taste and average solids content.

500 ml green bottle (new design), from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5%. Clear golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, also some grassy and herbal hops. Fairly refreshing flavour, some malty sweetness but also moderate herbal hops. Not too bad.

Bottled (From bierzwerg.de). Golden colour with a small longlasting foamy head. Also some slight lace. Aroma is hay, cardboard, some grass and mild bready and grainy notes. Flavour is being rather similar with also some rather strange sweetness. Not the worst of beers from Ukraine, but still quite far from being pleasant.

As I purchased this, the guy at the checkout in his great Russian accent said 'that's the world's best beer'. I tried hard not to laugh. It pours a very nice gold colour with a white cap that is 'yay big'. Clear. The aroma was as expected with cereal malt, and some hops. The flavour was certainly crisper and better than standard North American lagers with a good balance between malt and hops, without the syrupy sweetness.

So, I've got a 3 way going here, Obolon Premium vs. Obolon Lager vs. Obolon Svitle. What a wonderful idea this is turning out to be....
Solid gold beer with a thin bubbly white cap. Aromas of apple juice, cereal malts and some background hops. The taste is decent here but lacks what I want out of any nameless Euro brew: Grainy malts, slight ick bitterness that works here, weak spice I think, weak candy. Mostly malts. Finishes decent enough but get this back before it warms as it wants to twist my stomach. Already sampled the other two and thought I'd go from best to worst. Wow, I can't wait to drink the other two that I already poured... I'm starting to think this is poor idea. Not as bad as Germany's idea to attack Stalingrad but, dammit if this isn't a close second.

Large bottle, definately a good beer to cleanse the palate after a meal, no flavor, although there is a mild bitterness that is not entirely pleasant. Aroma wasn't terrible, just somewhat bland. I don't think I will be ordering this "premium" beer again soon.

Had a bottle of this last night, while making up a yeast starter (for homebrewing tomorrow evening). And while my first impression wasn't too positive, I warmed up to this beer not too soon afterwards. As such, this wasn't bad, IMO.

500mL green bottle, with a mixed English/Ukranian-language label. Semmed a bit skunky at the first whiff after popping the bottle cap, but this characteristic thankfully more-or-less disappeared by the time I got the entire beer into my glass.

Golden and clear, with a certian uniformity in the foam and head. Adequate head retention and lacing, too. Overall, nothing stellar, but no significant faults.

Nicely grainy and sturdy in the mouthfeel -- no soft and wimpy Lagers for Ukranian locals, it seems! Which is good, since the "hardness" of this beer's mouthfeel gives the flavor profile plenty of leeway to make good on it's promise to satisfy.

Clean and fairly drinkable, with some of the bitterness coming through in the extreme end of the glass. Was able to polish this off with no trouble what-so-ever. Perhaps a little too sturdy for many folks -- that is to say, perhaps a little too close to the knuckle-dragging market -- but this was a pleasant surprise, IMHO.

Sampled at a bar in Kyiv. Ths is exactly what you would expect. Just a light amber coloring with a corn flake aroma and some slight hops. The taste is pleasant enough with bread and some weird grassiness.

It's a nice one with crisp and bitter taste with hops tone. The quality is fine as well.
