Taps opaque dark chocolate with a thin beige head. Aroma features toasted malt, toffee and molasses notes. Flavor delivers molasses, roasted malt, toffee, and subtle chocolate notes for one tasty porter. Mouthfeel presents fair body and fizz. Bleep Prohibition, long live BEER!

The last beer of my trip to DC. A dark brown pour with a creamy thick brown head. Lots of chocolate in the nose, some roast, some dark fruit. The flavour is rather simple, but it's a formula that works. Roasted malt balanced with bitter chocolate.

Smooth, roasty and slightly malty. This is my beer of choice at Capitol City when I'm in Washington during those cold, dark months. It also goes great with some of the heartier dishes they serve - if you're in the mood for food.

Dark cola brown with a smaller head compared to the rest. The aroma is a bit roasty, coffee-chocolate. Pretty big flavor. Toffee comes forward from the rest. A bit more toffee than most similar beers I think. This would make a good beer float or beer icecream, I think.

Best one i had from here. Poured a nice dark brown smikey head. Aroma was sweet and smokey. Flavor was good malty not to sweet. Mouthfeel was just a tad on the thin side.

Definately the best of the bunch during my particular visit to the brewpub near Union Station DC. However, still not very good, extremely thin and watery, I like to have a porter with a strong enough body to withstand at least 20 minutes of sipping. Seemed to break down before it hit my lips. Aroma was sickly sweet, but it didn’t translate through to the flavor, which was surprisngly good. Not my favorite porter, but if I were forced I would get this one again and stick to it all night.
