pours a bright and clear, has a light yellow color with medium sized white head with little lacing and retention. Lots of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. The aroma is on the weak side with light malty smells and some floral hop character. Slight sweet fruity aroma as well. The taste is crisp, but not overly flavorful. Bitterness is low and some malty sweetness makes for a nice balance. The mouthfeel is on the thin side, with high carbonation. Aftertaste is lightly dry.

A beer in a clear bottle is not taken serious by the brewer who crafted it. How could he? This one, in a clear bottle starts on pour with a pale straw colored beer. It has a medium sized frothy textured, white head. Good hang time. But the impressively thick film on the side of the glass disappears leaving nothing of it’s former self. But to enjoy this one you have to let it warm and in that you sacrifice the lacing. The nose and tasting are grains, malt and grassy hops. A gentle sweetness in a medium bodied, creamy beer makes this an okay drink, I’ll finish.

500 ml bottle. Poured in the original Baltika seidel a clear amber orange colored beer with a three fingers white creamy foamy head that had an excellent retention and tons of micro bubbles. Active carbonation. Superb lacing. The aroma is sweet caramel malts, grain, corn, honey. The flavour is weak sweety malts, great presence of honey. The mouthfeel is although too sweety pretty smooth. This light to medium bodied beer has a slight bitter short finsih. An around the average beer.

Comes in a gift box for Christmas, with three of their different brews and a tall glass. Second beer reviewed from Baltika tonight (comparing it to their other pale lager, No. 5). More on the golden colour than the No. 5, with the same type of white fluffy head that stays a while and has decent lace. This one has even less carbonation than the other. A couple of bubbles here and there and that's it. It is also closer to a North-American swill scent than a Euro pilsner. Barley, malt, corn and alcohol. Watery mouthfeel with a little more stickiness to the end, not as crisp. The taste is pretty malty too, with not much hop to it and just a little sweetness. Notes of apples in the aftertaste. Overall, pretty light tasting and less refreshing than their No. 7.

Sampled on 9/24/2009. Bottled on 6/7/08. Oh NO!, the beer is past its best by date! This pale lager pours a light orange gold color from a clean 50cl bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is cereal and grain, sweet corn and hay. Not all that unpleasant. A medium bodied Pale Lager. The malts are cereal and sweet, touch of grain. The hops are kind of spicy. Lively carbonation. A touch of corn and vegetable flavors kind of dominate the malts. Get more pronounced as it warms. Not horrid but not very good either. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a touch of metal and some cardboard.

Pretty standard golden lager, mid yellow body, hardly any carbonation, and a thin white cap. Slightly skunky with slight hints of grass and malts. Unexeciting, and bland but not offensive.

This beer poured a clear golden color with a tall fluffy white head. Had a grainy aroma and flavors of rice and other adjuncts. Basically crap, wouldnt recommend this to anyone.

Bottled. Pale golden colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is vegetables, sweet malts, some hayish and sweet notes. Flavour is much the same. Rather thin and uninspiring beer.

What bothers me, is that if i didn't know any better, 5 years ago i wouldve rated this a lot higher because it would have been a rare walk into the "russian beer industry". whatever it consists of. today i know it tastes like crap. Pours a clear yellow colour, small grainy white top. Aroma is of corn, grain and wet dog. Taste is grainy of course, stale hops and watery. i didn't expect much from this beer. but not expecting much, is expecting a lot with this one.

500 ml clear bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pale yellow to golden colour. Fizzy beer with a big head. Industrial sweetish pale lager aroma, notes of maize, candy and some fruit. The flavour is fairly sweet with some fruitiness, hardly any bitterness at all. Not much to write home about here.
