An ultra-premium all-malt classic English-style India Pale Ale at 6.5% alc./vol. Enticing deep gold colour. Nutty malt aromatic nuances with spicy, grassy and fruity hop aromas achieved by dry hopping. Spicy, grassy and fruity hop flavours are combined with an assertive bitterness and mellow smooth malt flavour. Typical yeast-derived ale fruitiness and warming alcohol make this India Pale Ale a true-to-style classic. Enjoy with mulligatawny soup, roast beef, meat pies and stews, cajun fish, curry dishes and spicy foods, haggis, and strong cheddar and blue cheeses.

This is a pretty good beer. A nice cloudy orange beer with a hoppy aroma. The head is white, and the hops are accompanied by a grainy malt aroma with citrus. The flavour has a nice hoppy bite to it. Probably the only beer from this brewery that I would buy again.

Hmm, I really wanted to like this one more than I did, but it's just average and tastes all wrong - kind of nutty, which I don't want in an I.P.A. So far Magnotta's brews have been hit-or-miss. As far as Candian I.P.A.'s go, I'll take a Hophead anyday.

Another unpasturized traditional brew from Magnotta who seem to be unafraid to dabble in marketing traditional style beers uncommon to Canada (Alt/hefeweizen/Strong IPA) on the commercial market....this IPA is a very good rendering....I like the 6.5%AVB..good IPAs should rate 6.2-6.9% in my books...the hops and malt body are there baby!!...this is one domestic has potential...the only place it seems lacking is in the nose department...needs some dry hopping to get that IPA nose thing working and a tad more roast malt to the body to balance it...if that was cleared up this would be Canada's rendition of Alpha King...This is the best IPA on the commercial market in Ontario (sorry Mill street comes in a close 2nd IMHO).

Thanks pintbypint. If this had been placed in front of me to smell, I would have guessed this was Three Floyd’s Alpha King. Awesome aroma of bread, biscuits and flowery oranges. The taste is bright citrus with bread crust and flowers. A nice session style IPA.

Golden orange in colour, this IPA with a medium head leaves a foamy lacing. Lightly carbonated, I can smell hints of citrus (specially oranges). It has a medium bitter taste to it but with a smooth finish. The strong alcohol content is not unpleasant, but hits the right spot in your head. Better then Keith's for a Canadian IPA.
