Pours ruby brown with a pretty ridiculous large sized head that falls slowly - takes six pours and ten minutes waiting to empty the bottle. Minimal lacing. Significant particulate, and a cake of sludge in the bottom of the bottle. Very unappealing. The aroma is floral, citrusy, sharp, astringent and a mild burnt toffee in the background, but overall very hop-forward. The taste is maltier than anticipated after the aroma, fruity/skunky/sweet flavor which doesn't mesh well with the mellow toasted shortbread malt. The mouth feel is medium body, light-medium carbonation.

Hats off to the good folks in Idaho! A lovingly complex brown, great molasses an caramel flavors wrapped up with just a bit of hoppy malt. One of the better finds that I have come across recently.

Off the tap at Closed for Business (the name of the bar) on King Street in Charleston... draws a deep mahagony brown with a tight tan head that lingers. Sweet malts abound in flavor and aroma; the light hoppiness gives this a nice bite to the finish.

A little darker than the ESB's I have had before. Nice Aroma. Pours a dark, creamy brown with a very large and fluffy head. Full bodied and full flavored. Tastes like a Goose Island Honker Ale but more full bodied. Excellent, will have again.

What stands out about this beer is the huge amount of particles floating in the glass--strange for the style. Other than that, this is a very good ESB, with an abundance of piney hops to keep the caramel and malt at bay.

This was a good ESB. Dark chestnut brown, a little head, slight alcohol burn. Rich caramel flavors, offset nicely by a solid piney-hop presence. chewy and rich tasting. A real solid beer...sweet with quite a solid bite to it.

Bitch creek is a beer from Idaho with a real earthy flavor to it. The color is a hazy muddy copper and there are notes of apples and fruit accompanied by fresh hoppiness.

YEssir, i liked this one quite a bit. Pours a cloudy copper colour with a big beige head. Super frothy leaving behind tons of sticky resin on the glass. Piney and floral, with noticeable hops and grapefruit on the nnose. Initially caramel, with hops again and creamy well integrated malty finish.

This beer poured a dark mber color with a decent head and some nice lacing. The aroma was overall mild with some pine notes coming through. The flavor was very balanced and the mouthfeel was slightly thin with a crisp finish.

this one stands out just a little from your average esb. a little more flavor, nothing different...just more. tasted fresher, with a nice hop aroma. 4/09 had again, darker than i remember, and just as hoppy...almost more pale-like than esb. nice ale...similar hop profile to the Sweetgrass.
