#2568 Saigon Export from Saigon, Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam
Score: 2 | Aroma 4 | Appearance 4 | Mouthfeel 4 | Flavor 4 | Overall 4 |
With Pho in Little Saigon, Huntington Beach, CA - light straw color, rather bland and weak, still decent enough when cold to drink with my Pho. Another country off the list...

New version, freaking amazed to see it at my local beer market shelves. Red-brown translucent pour with short ring head. Sour cherries and fruits, hint of SweetTarts, oak, pinch of vineous and vinegar, but mostly traitor up deliciousness in the nose a palette. Love.

#2566 Spencer Trappist Ale from Spencer, MA, United States
Score: 4.2 | Aroma 9 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 9 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Yeah, I scored a couple of bottles (got a niece in Boston.) Beautiful golden color, near perfect white fuffy head, nice lacing throughout. Pleasant Belgian yeast and light biscuit nose and flavors, adequately hopped with a nice floral and fruity bouquet, great finish. This beer definitely meets the high Trappist standards of it's European counterparts. Bravo.

#2565 Super Brew 15 from Galati, Romania

There is just one reason I am drinking and rating this beer: to add another country to my list. Amber color, no head nor lacing. Aromas of rubbing alcohol and apple pie moonshine, taste is about the same. Hot mess. This is a horrible excuse for a barleywine, but it's Romanian, so who knows...

#2564 Greenbrier Valley Wild Trail Pale Ale from Maxwelton, WV, United States
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
My last state. A long strange journey it has been. First of all, thanks to my local beer bud Jason for knowing that I needed WVa and securing a beer from that hard-to-get state for me. The beer: basic straw gold pour, average head, some lacing. Nice tropical fruit and slight floral aromas and flavors, nice little bitter linger too. Actually I could drink a lot of these puppies. This one was shared at the Hootenanny 2015 with several of my close friends; a very good way to fill in that map. Cheers!

From Cottrell, fulfilling my Connecticut beer wish thus marking off one more state from the US/DC map. Light golden amber, ample head, good lacing. Floral, light caramel, hint of spruce in both the nose and flavors. Nice bitter linger throughout, very enjoyable. Huge thanks to Todd.

#2562 Tallgrass Zombie Monkie from Manhattan, KS, United States
Score: 3.9 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
On my wish list on name alone. Tallgrass just started distributing to my part of Tennessee, so, I get some. Rich roasted maltiness highlighted by choclate and slight coffee flavors and nose. Easy to drink, tasty, and now another MONKEY beer marked off my list.

#2561 Chimay Dorée (Black) from Baileux, Belgium
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Hard little bugger to find - purchased at The Beer Trappe in Lexington, KY. Been on my wish list since 2008. Really. Murky light brown pour, slight head, some lacing. Light spiced aroma and flavors, requisite Belgian yeasts, light body and mouthfeel, some floral and citrus. Underwhelming but as a personal WHite Whale, still satisfying. Another one marked off the list...

#2560 Ballast Point Victory at Sea (Coffee and Vanilla) from San Diego, CA, United States
Score: 4.5 | Aroma 9 | Appearance 10 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 9 | Overall 9 |
Shared by Sam. Near-stout viscosity black pour, tall head and nice lacing. Huge vanilla initially in the aromas and flavor, then toast, chocoalte, light coffee, more vanilla. A fantastic porter indeed.

#2559 Smuttynose Baltic Porter from Portsmouth, NH, United States
Score: 4.5 | Aroma 9 | Appearance 9 | Mouthfeel 9 | Flavor 9 | Overall 9 |
FINALLY Smuttynose is in Tennessee. Fantastic representation of the style. Nice bronze pour, ample head and lacing. Lightly smoky and sweet nose and palate, very easy mouthfeel - smooth, chocolates, rich roasted malts. Just damn tasty. Love a good Baltic Porter.
