#4176 Spencer Trappist Monk's Reserve Ale from Spencer, MA, United States
Score: 4.1 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 9 |
At first pour, aromas of dark fruits, molasses, caramel and light alcohol. Then, some beautiful spices come out to round things out. The taste shows coffee notes over the warming mouthfeel with the roasted malts that lingers on the tongue. The dark fruits do appear as well with time, the yeast chills in the background. Eventually, apple, spices and light bitterness play together. A dark brown colour with ruby highlights. Very nice tiny carbonation. The head is creamy, warm light-beige with some good creamy lacing left on the Spencer glass I got in their last package. This is all so well balanced, very nice. Gets better every sip.

#4175 Flying Monkeys Sparklepuff from Barrie, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.7 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
Can that pours a storm of floating huge particles around, in a golden-orange colour with a fizzy-bubbly white cap that disappears quick enough, just leaving a thin coating. Lots of peaches in the aromas over vanilla notes and hints of alcohol. The alcohol shows a little more in the taste, but really not that much for such a high percentage. Flavours of peach and well-blended hops. Pretty juicy overall and so easy to drink - it's doing its job. Probably prettier to drink from can.

#4174 Walkerville Brewery Russian Imperial Stout from Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Score: 4.1 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 9 |
Pours a black colour with very little highlights that show some ruby-copper. The head is beautiful creamy, mocha-coloured, with great retention and creamy lacing all-around. Roasted malt aromas with dark fruit notes, molasses, nuts and coffee. The taste shows a nice balance of chocolate and coffee, with a nice warming mouthfeel. Roasted malt is left on the tongue. Great label and great Imperial Stout.

#4173 Lickinghole Creek Nine Mile IPA from Goochland, VA, United States
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 6 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Pours a light hazy golden colour with an amber hue. The frothy white cap is average and leaves some thick foamy-creamy lace. Fruity nose with some oranges, grapefruit peel and hints of tropical fruits. These last fruits show up even more in the taste, over the citrus. Even some coconut seems to smooth things down, but the bitterness does increase in the finish. A nice dryness is created because of this. I even feel pineapples in here. Not sure what they are going for in this one, but a different kind of IPA, that has some juiciness to it. Kind of mixing three IPA styles with the Milkshake one as well.

#4172 Royal City Brewing Dubbel from Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.1 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 5 | Overall 6 |
Pours a clean darker amber colour or light-copper with a frothy-creamy beige head, good stay and some wavy-creamy lacing. The nose is quite yeasty at first, and not the good Belgian one. This changes into a sweet nose with caramel, maple syrup, but also well-blended with some fruitiness, like cherries and other fruits. The taste is pretty malty with a lot found in the nose, but really, really mild. A little less balanced as well with the light hops that should not show in here. Easy-drinking for a 7.5% ABV, that's about it.

#4171 Stone Ruination Double IPA 2.0 from Escondido, CA, United States
Score: 3.7 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Pours a unfiltered with transparent particles running through it. Golden-amber colour with an off-white frothy-creamy head, good retention and some nice creamy wavy lace. Fresh grassy hop aromas with some pine notes, fruitiness and mild caramel. The taste is very hoppy, bitter and dry in the finish. Yes, very hoppy. Like an Imperial IPA hopbomb.

#4170 Cascade Manhattan NW from Portland, OR, United States
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
2015 edition classy-labelled brown bottle. Pours a hazy caramel-orange colour with an off-white head with a decent amount that coats the brew and leaves a little lace. Aromas are sour with lots of fruitiness, like the cherries used in this one, plus many more. The mouthfeel is quite sour with some nice tart on the tongue. The taste shows the sourness over the fruity cherries flavours. Again, lots of other good fruits. This is very good for a wild ale, but after reading the description with a Quadrupel, Blonde Ale and even barrel aged, just expecting a tad more out of this.

#4169 Parallel 49 Trash Panda Hazy IPA from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Can that pours a hazy golden-orange colour with a big creamy warm light-beige head, great retention and thick creamy-bubbly lacing. The hops in the nose is on the green leaf side with some hints of cilantro. The taste starts off more with some tropical fruits and some coconut. The grassy leafs are there in the background. Not super juicy, but an interesting hazy IPA.

#4168 Central City Beer League Lager from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
Score: 2.2 | Aroma 4 | Appearance 5 | Mouthfeel 5 | Flavor 4 | Overall 4 |
Can that pours a clean, light golden-yellow colour with a frothy-fizzy white cap that disappears averagely leaving a little coat on the brew and some webby lacing. Aromas of somewhat cereal malts at first, and then, some somewhat hops appears. Yes, seems a tad on the fake side, or the stuff used by macros. The taste is on the same line. More of the malts lingering. Hops are hard to find here. I do not mind a micro lager, but this is not one. And I do like this brewery.

#4167 Flora Hall Dry Hopped Sour (smoked sea salt and grapefruit) from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 6 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
On cask last Friday. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a bubbly off-white head that disappears quickly leaving minimal lace. The taste shows the sourness, but blended with a slight bitterness of the grapefruit. Hints of salt lingers on the tongue, but no smokiness. Very mild tart mouthfeel, but still crisp and refreshing. Aromas of oranges and grapefruits. Kind of like a gose, but with a little more alcohol. Still goes down nicely.
