#312 The Bruery Bourbon Barrel Aged Autumn Maple from Placentia, CA, United States
Score: 4.1 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 9 | Overall 8 |
Deep brown pour with a slight amber hue and a frothy white head. Striking aromas of candied sugar, oak, and vanilla. Thick mouthfeel helped out with strong carbonation. It's a sipper at 13 percent but the alcohol is hidden well. Wonderful flavors of candied yams, vanilla, and oaky bourbon. I'm not the biggest fan of the base beer, but the barrel really adds complexity and this one is a winner. It's not a sugar bomb like so many other high gravity bruery beers.

#311 Westbrook Second Anniversary Cap’n Skoon’s Ballistic Stout from Mount Pleasant, SC, United States
Score: 4.5 | Aroma 10 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 9 | Flavor 9 | Overall 9 |
One of the prettiest imperial stouts to behold in a glass. Opaque black with a deep brown head that tinges red. Absolutely beautiful. Deep roasted malt on the nose with hints of anise and cherry. Rich and thick mouthfeel while exceptionally smooth, quite drinkable for a strong stout. Notes of licorice, cherry, and figs with a strong roasty backbone. I could drink this one all winter. Loved it.

#310 Lawson's Finest Double Sunshine from Warren, VT, United States
Score: 3.9 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Received as part of a rather large bottle swap. Love me some VT brews. Orange pour with sharp carbonation and a sticky head tat laces beautifully. Strong pine forward aromas with citrus notes. This one has quite a long finish - definitely more west coast slanted, tons of simcoe as pine and grapefruit dominate. I don't notice a ton of tropical notes. It's executed well, but overrated.

Wow. Orange hued with tons of carbonation. Zesty aromas of lemon and citrus with a musty undertone contributed to the apricots. Velvety texture with high acidity yet easily drinkable. Massively tart flavors - lemon and tangerine with a strong apricot finish. One of the finer lambics.

#308 Hill Farmstead Everett from Greensboro Bend, VT, United States
Score: 4.3 | Aroma 10 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 9 |
Easily the best looking porter around - deep brown/black with a mocha colored head. Robust aromas of smoke, chocolate, and coffee. Tastes of brownie batter, smoky malt, and pumpernickel bread. Highly enjoyable. This would be a staple in the fridge if more readily available.

#307 Hill Farmstead Abner from Greensboro Bend, VT, United States

750ml growler. Orange hued pour with lots of carbonation and a sticky head that firmly coats the glass. Pungent aromas of mango, citrus, and pine. Bursting with flavor - pine, tropical fruit, lemon, and orange, it's dangerously complex for a Double IPA. I found myself noting different flavors with each passing sips. Easily one of the top IPAs on the market today (2013).

#306 Hill Farmstead Double Citra IPA from Greensboro Bend, VT, United States
Score: 4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 9 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
750 ml growler poured into two snifters. Straw yellow appearance with a sharp burst of carbonation. Deep tropical aromas - pineapple and tangerine. Dangerously quaffable with notes of mangoes, pineapple, and orange zest balanced with a biscuity backbone. A wonderful showcase of citra.

#305 Pretty Things Our Finest Regards from Cambridge, MA, United States
Score: 4.1 | Aroma 9 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Deep murky brown pour with a lot more carbonation than I expected for a brew of this gravity. Strong alcohol phenols on the nose with a distinct smoked malt on the finish. Massively thick and complex. Sweet and reminiscent of molasses of front with a finish of burnt caramel, toasted raisins, and dried figs. Wonderfully long finish - so malty you'd think you were drinking a milkshake.

#304 Hill Farmstead Elaborative #1 from Greensboro Bend, VT, United States
Score: 4.3 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 9 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 9 | Overall 9 |
375 ml bottle poured into a snifter - deep brown with a load of soapy head. Strong walnuts on the nose with a side of vinegar. Creamy mouthfeel with a good bit of acidity. This tastes like getting hit in the face with a sack of walnuts while sucking in lemon candy. The walnuts are really pronounced but really blend well with the base beer. It is not over the top tart, but it's balanced well. I'm very happy to have tried.

#303 Hill Farmstead Vera Mae Saison from Greensboro Bend, VT, United States
Score: 4.7 | Aroma 10 | Appearance 9 | Mouthfeel 9 | Flavor 10 | Overall 9 |
One of the best beers I've had this year. Bottle procured at the brewery in greensboro bend. Hazy golden yellow pour with lots of bar inaction and strong, thick hite head. Eatery aromas of lemongrass, hay, wheat, and lemon. Creamy mouthfeel with sharp carbonation and a slightly tart finish. Flavors of horse blanket, honey, malted wheat, and citrus. There is a "Je ne sais quios" with this beer. The style is nailed and I'd wager this could compete with other top tier saison from belgium. Truly remarkable.
