#2101 Jolly Pumpkin Noel de Calabaza from Dexter, MI, United States
Score: 3.5 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Heavy carbonation calls for a gentle pour. The body is a dark wood stain and the aroma and flavor both have that touch of sourness that all Jolly Pumpkin beers have. Nuts and woods come from the dark malt.

#2100 Left Hand Terra-RyeZD Black Rye Lager from Longmont, CO, United States
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 8 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
This beer was surprisingly viscous at the pour, but didn't come across as overly thick or cloying in the mouthfeel. This is a surprisingly malty lager. Lots of spice from the rye, some slight astringency. A very light roast backs up the rest. Pretty tasty beer.

#2099 Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale from Escondido, CA, United States
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
There was a distinct hop note emanating from the bottle when I uncapped it, but this is actually a fairly unhoppy beer by Stone standards dried fruits and nuts come from the malt and yeast and there's a faint chocolate in the finish.

#2098 Allagash Black from Portland, ME, United States
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 8 |
A very dark cola brown with a light khaki head. Heavy carbonation. Perhaps a little too much. Fairly dry chocolate, a little anise note in the back. I The mouthfeel remains a little foamy even when the head recedes because of the high carbonation.

#2097 Hoppin' Frog Mean Manalishi from Akron, OH, United States
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
This is a very nice IPA. Nice citrusy hops on the nose. A very rich (by IPA standards) maltiness backs up the assertive, but not harsh, bitterness. Pretty tasty. Carries its weight well.

There are some nice qualities with this one, but the body is a bit thin so it leaves the good chocolate and brown sugar flavor falling short. The color is a nice blackened ruby, though.

#2095 Big Sky IPA from Missoula, MT, United States
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 6 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Ah, Simcoe. I knew that that hop profile was familar. One of my favorite hops. I was going to say that it had a similar hop profile to Dale’s Pale Ale, but without the hefty malt backbone. This makes for a nice APA, but is a little timid for an IPA, at least at current hophead standards. Thanks Sparky27.

#2094 Williamsburg AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Rapadou Porter from Williamsburg, VA, United States
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
Thanks Immy: Pours a very dark brown. This has a thinner body than expected, likely the product of the added sugar, but it does add a nice toffee and molasses flavor. A bit of roast and chocolate. Some very small warmth in the finish.

#2093 Williamsburg AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Ironbound Ale from Williamsburg, VA, United States
Score: 3.3 | Aroma 6 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Thanks Immy: This is the first of the AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve that disappointed me. It calls itself an Imperial IPA, but there don’t seem to be enough hops here to justify that label. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good beer. There’s a bit of chill haze like the barleywine and american strong ale and there’s a fairly high viscosity. There’s less caramel and fruit in this than their was in the other two of the Brewmasters Reserve I’ve had so far, but it’s a fairly tasty beer. I had just hoped for more hoppiness.

#2092 Williamsburg AleWerks Brewmasters Reserve Wolfes Trap Ale from Williamsburg, VA, United States
Score: 3.8 | Aroma 8 | Appearance 8 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 8 | Overall 8 |
Thanks Immy: Bottle 1151: Pours a heavily chill hazed brown with an excellent light khaki head. The aroma is full of rich caramel malt, a nice note of american hops flowing around underneath and a distinctly tropical fruitiness. It’s almost like watermelon bubblegum and passionfruit. This is a pretty interesting big beer.
