#1829 Lickinghole Creek One Lion Imperial Stout from Goochland, VA, United States

750ml bottle from LCBO. 7% abv on label. Pours a big thick and creamy beige head and has a dark brown appearance. Lots of dirty lacing remains. Moderate carbonation. Aromas of dark roasted malt, vanilla, hints of chocolate and coffee, a little bit nutty as well. Flavours are sweet and chocolatey, roasted malts, a bit woodsy and some mild spices. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Goes down pretty easy and not as heavy for an impy stout, especially at 7%. Still pretty good overall.

#1827 Mill Street Kafia Coffee Porter from Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.4 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 6 | Flavor 7 | Overall 7 |
Picked up a swivel top 750ml bottle at the Ottawa brewpub. Pours an average size foamy tan head and had a deep dark brown appearance. Lacing is somewhat weak. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, light roasted malts, a bit nutty. Flavours are similar to aromas with the strong chocolatey and coffee notes but with some added notes of brown sugar, crystal malt and mild earthy hints. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Pretty good with just enough coffee notes.

#1825 Beau's All Natural Gruit Series: The Astromancer from VanKleek Hill, Ontario, Canada
Score: 3.6 | Aroma 7 | Appearance 7 | Mouthfeel 7 | Flavor 8 | Overall 7 |
600ml bottle. Pours a huge thick and frothy beige head and has a dark amber coppery appearance. Leaves some thick dirty lacing behind. Slightly excessive carbonation. Aromas of earthy and herbal hops, mild peppery notes, some light caramel and toasted malt. Flavours are full of gruit, spice and herbs, sage, some light pepper, subtle toasted malt, kind of a various vegetable like taste in the finish. Somewhat of a bitter dry like mouthfeel. I find their gruit series to be sometimes hit or miss, but this one is firmly middle ground. Quite good but don't see myself following it up with another.
