#187 Alchemy Cafe from Madison, WI, United States
Score: 4.9 | Atmosphere 10 | Selection 9 | Value 10 | Service 10 | Overall 10 |
I am proud to say that I cook in the kitchen at this fine establishment. Featuring some really bomb food, with fresh and local ingredients, and 10 constantly rotating taps, as well as free live music or DJs every night, it is no wonder the Alchemy Cafe is favorite and respected neighborhood hang-out.

Score: 4.2 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 8 | Value 9 | Service 9 | Overall 8 |
Here is a little joint with a nice bar, I think about 6-8 taps and a kitchen. You can buy beer and take out sixer's to go. I was glad to find in their nice selection some varieties of Hair of the Dog.
The place probably seats no more than 30 people. About 5 bar stools, and a few tables. I would definately recommend it if you are in the area.

I usually go here for a bloody mary on sundays to work off the hangover, I've always departed feeling glorious. Right by the capital, I will cross the street and lay in the Capital lawn and digest my bacon cheese burger with a sunny side up egg on top and listen to reggae on my mp3 player.

They have all Wisconsin taps and lots of them, the bar is big and beautiful. Come and see for yourself. This place does it up right, and traditionally.

A small little Belgium pub with a nice little kitchen. Come with some stack in your wallet so you can enjoy the experience. Delicious brews fresh on tap or in bottles. Things you can't find everywhere. I went with my good buddy Phishpond and had a blast. Service was excellent too, very friendly, patient, and hospitable. If you like Belgium beers as much as I do, and your'e around the town, come on down!

#183 The Malt House from Madison, WI, United States
Score: 4 | Atmosphere 9 | Selection 9 | Value 7 | Service 7 | Overall 8 |
Simple idea rich with fine quality beers on tap and bottles. The atmosphere is great filled with happy folks drinking good spirits in good spirits. Also live accoustic bluegrass music every Monday. $1 off beers during happy hour. You can bring in your own food or get it ordered there. The bar itself also has much history dating back to the Civil war times. Put on your drinking cap and taste the wonders. "life's too short to drink shitty beer."

Excellent place, duude. Great beir selection, good employee's and such. Frequent beer and wine tastings. Concerned management makes sure the customer gets the freshest and the bestest. It is good, you know, to have a store that cares. Small, but good. They even had a Port tasting with fondue earlier in late 2008.

Well... Riley's.. Madison. This is something else. There are some things and then theres others. Don't dig to deep. Much wine and fine liquers, decent beer selection. But. Much of their cliental is dumb college students with high GPA's who are self-satisfied drinking dirty thirties such as keystone light. I have received excellent service here, quite a large store, but they... who knows, man. Their main clientel suck. They might be tied in with the mafia too. Don't be a sucker.

Quiet night, I enjoyed it. Beautiful finished woodwork. A shelf to place your beer, hooks to hang your hat. $1.25 for pool but they have nice tables. I had a great time. Lots of variety in brewskies. Will definately go back. Phishpond took me there with Jiggaman.
