#2568 The Market, Maryville from Maryville, TN, United States
Score: 4.1 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 8 | Value 8 | Service 9 | Overall 8 |
The Beer Cave at The Market is a great local craft beer hang out without being pretentious. Laid back and friendly, The Market offers a nice craft beer selection in bottles, cans, and offer eight rotating taps for in house enjoyment or growler fills. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Bonus: The Market offers great food and gourmet meats, cheeses, BBQ rubs and sauces and fresh produce. They buy locally and try to source everything possible from local outlets. GREAT guys, great place, fun place to hoist a few pints.

#2567 Chattanooga Brewing Company from Chattanooga, TN, United States
Score: 3.9 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 7 | Value 8 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
Tiny miniscule location, actually literally hard to walk around to find it - thanks to PfoxyJohn's keen eye and Sam's hound dog beer scent abilities did we find it. (Visited the night before the Hootenanny.) Crowded short tiny bar, maybe 4 stools, that is amongst the barrels and brewing room. All of their mainline beers on tap plus any seasonals that may be available. Our choice was for the Oktoberfest, which was quite tasty. John purchased his requisite logo glass and I think he bought our pints at this location? Yeah, that's my story. Anyway, we had time to visit here because seating at Terminal BrewHouse was a 45 minute wait. What to do? Seek more pints down the street which lead us to try to find a parking spot, then try to find the front door of Chattanooga Brewing Company. Found it, had a pint, enjoyed our visit, scurried back to Terminal BrewHouse to be immediately seated. Life is good, especially with good friends and good beers.

#2566 Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, The, Nashville from Nashville, TN, United States
Score: 4 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 9 | Value 7 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
Visited on a recent trip to downtown Nashville. Big beer bar, good pub grub, cool relaxed interior with big couches and chairs to create a very laid back atmosphere. HUGE bar and tap wall! Maybe 80 taps? Lots of rare and locals. Attentive and knowledgeable bartenders. Proper glassware for each beer style which is always a plus. The location is kind of hidden although very near all the hub bub in downtown NashVegas on Broadway. Map it out and visit! Well worth the trip to this location. Will revisit on my next visit to Music City. BooYah!

#2565 Barley's Taproom & Pizzeria, Maryville from Maryville, TN, United States
Score: 4 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 8 | Value 8 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
New Barleys is the best Barleys. Located in an old record store in downtown Maryville, cool building, plenty of parking. Very well done remodeled interior: clean, open, 70 beer taps! That is a lot for any beer place. High gravs too. Food is way above average pub grub. Pizzas are outstanding, all kinds of different dishes available. J. T., the general manager, is a very craft-beer friendly guy. Great place for just getting beers or taking the family for lunch or dinner. Glad to see this open one block from where my daughter attends college. WIN!

#2564 Milwaukee Ale House from Milwaukee, WI, United States
Score: 4.2 | Atmosphere 9 | Selection 9 | Value 8 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
PfoxyJohn highly recommended a visit to this place during my trip to Milwaukee - good call Bro. Easy walk from the lakefront where we were parked. Got to sit out back on the patio overlooking the water; very cool as boats were coming in and out. The weather for July was perfect: low 70s and sunny. Had a decadent Bacon Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburger. Yes, that is a lot of bacon. The wife and kid also enjoyed their meal selections. Good food. On to the beers: got a huge sampler and could add-on any other beer for $1 each. WINNER! Above average and most all selections, especially the Dopplebock and Rauchbier - they were both outstanding. Glad I was walking...

#2563 Calfkiller Brewing Company from Sparta, TN, United States
Score: 4.7 | Atmosphere 10 | Selection 8 | Value 9 | Service 10 | Overall 10 |
Made the hour + drive to Sparta, TN on a Saturday afternoon after emailing the Sergio Bros about coming down to visit. Beautiful drive over and down the Cumberland Plateau in to the valley along the banks of the Calfkiller River. The brewery is adjacent to one of the brother's house, in a refashioned barn. The mini "tour" group consisted of about a dozen, hailing from California, Ohio, Manhattan, Kentucky and of course Tennessee. Great group too. BOTTOMLESS samples of all of their offerings as we interactively toured the small facility. Tasted one-offs, casks, and even some rare bottles were shared after the tour. Sat and chatted with Dave and Don Sergio for another 45 minutes afterword. Great guys, very cool place. Great styling - all of their beers use a Belgian-based yeast strain. Their families also help out at the business. Unbelievably nice tour and sampling. Will revisit many times - a must-visit for craft beer lovers in the region.

#2562 Blackhorse Pub & Brewery, Knoxville from Knoxville, TN, United States
Score: 3.7 | Atmosphere 7 | Selection 7 | Value 7 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
Newly opened brewpub. Clean with a nice basic bar grub menu. Beers were a touch green although I was warned ahead of time. The hefeweizen was pleasant enough along with a special Black & Tan made with their Vanilla Cream Ale. Tasty concoction. Decent enough food too - I tried a flatbread pizza thingamajig. Good service and knowledgeable staff, although they'd only been open a week. Will revisit when place gets some seasoning. Good to have another option in Knoxville.

#2561 Sunspot from Knoxville, TN, United States
Score: 3.7 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 7 | Value 7 | Service 7 | Overall 8 |
One of a handful of places in Knoxville that offer high gravity beers, on tap and bottles. Great little menu - the food is the star here - with tons of actually healthy stuff. Rotating season beer selections form local, regional and national craft brewers. Some rare stuff too - like Foothills Bourbon Barrel Sexual Chocolate - to name one. On The Strip next to the campus of the University of Tennessee, so it is nearly always busy if not crowded. Decent parking, great food and beer, nice scenery make this a must-visit in Knoxville.

#2560 TAP from Atlanta, GA, United States
Score: 4.1 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 9 | Value 7 | Service 9 | Overall 8 |
Dinner spot on our last visit to the ATL. Midtown, downtown. Very good food, way above regular pub grub. Excellent attentive service. Knowledgeable beer staff and waitress - she knew her beers. GREAT beer selection, especially with Germans and Belgians, also plenty of locals & regionals on tap. Thoroughly enjoyable visit albeit fairly expensive, would revisit.

#2559 Wicked Weed Brewing from Asheville, NC, United States
Score: 4 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 10 | Value 7 | Service 7 | Overall 8 |
Asheville's newest star, and could be their biggest star. A sour and barrel aging program that this area is yet to see. Very good food, great variety of beers, and then there is the downstairs barrel room, which is the star of this establishment. Usually a wait to get downstairs but it's worth it. Big beers, barrel aged beers, sours, and nothing but deliciousness. This is now a beer destination for anyone visiting Asheville. The first of hopefully many visits for me.
