#5683 Tahoe Mountain Brewing Company from Tahoe City, CA, United States

Perfect location across the street from Commons Beach in Tahoe City. The first year was rough, from a quality/price and service standpoint, but has gotten way better. The quality of the beers is fantastic. Half of what they pour will be out of bottles, which seems silly, but they're usually good. Like many places, the tap list is never up to date, but rest assured you'll get many good brews anyway.
I like the actual brewery in Truckee more.

Recommended lightly. 4 taps going, but two of them blew, and there was only 4 people in the place. Beers are above average and somewhat unique, but nothing mindblowing. The brewer owner poured them, and was a super friendly guy (hence the recomendation) but their prices will scare people away. $10 for 4 tastes (we got 5) is a bit much for standard beers. No pints (see above for capacity issue) The $13-20 bottle prices, though, were insulting. Couldn't justify even considering the styles they were selling at that price point. Cool stop...though likely a one timer.

Meh. That word best sums up our experience here. They've been surpassed by A LOT of other brewers in the area as far as the beer goes, and the location and food menu (while certainly adequate) were nothing special. I'd pick a lot of other places in the area before going here again. They're beer is average or better, but they suffer in the region, since the competition is heavy.

cool place in Ashland close to where they do the Shaespeare festival each year. Cozy vibe, though there's live music on some nights. Quaility of the beer and food is not quite phenomwnal, but way better than average. Good place to go in town, maybe the best...

Would never have seen this place if there was not a beer guzzling gorilla on the window (that you could see from the freeway).
Made a special side trip as they had a rare Firestone Walker sour on their (up to date!!!!) website tap list. Kudos for that. Anyway...super friendly beer geek types at the bar in back. Bottleshop up front, good selection, fair prices. The only hit is you can't sip a pint while perusing the bottle selection (seperate licences they haven't sprung for). But for a small place, I really dug it.

#5678 Social Kitchen & Brewery from San Francisco, CA, United States
Score: 4 | Atmosphere 8 | Selection 8 | Value 8 | Service 8 | Overall 8 |
A pleasant surprise by the GG Park panhandle. Smaller selection than some bigger breweries, but fantastic beers, nearly across the board! Combine that with a cool little place (hipster vibe, but not in a bad way) with a small eclectic food menu that's almost as good as the beer, and this place is a winner!

#5677 Magnolia Pub & Brewery from San Francisco, CA, United States

A solid, if not spectacular, brew pub by Golden Gate park. Solid big beers, good unique food menu. Not at the top of my list in SF, but worth a stop, especially if you're in the area. 1st time there was during the "Beer Run" during SF Beer Week. Good times :)

I think other places have caught up some in beer selection, but it's still top notch. Can be very overpriced for rare bottle selections, and is purposefully a DIVE, but the tap selection is one of the best, if not THE best, in town. Close to Social Kitchen and Magnolia, too.

Cool enough place...lots of wood. I'd go often if I lived near here, but it ranks fairly low on my ever growing places to hit in the Bay area, or even SF proper. Decent beers across the board...a touch overpriced...and ok food. In most towns it would be worth going out of your way for, just not here.

Yeah buddy. Hard to find (random wherehousey location BEHIND a strip mall) but you'll be glad you did. Ample indoor and outdoor seating...BYOF...easy enough as the strip mall has a Togos :) Beer is top notch and not super expensive. Hoppy stuff, barrel variations. Like I said, yeah buddy...
