The beer pours a coca-cola colour with absolutely no head. Kind of disappointing from the head perspective. The aroma is all roasted malt and coffee with a minor hint of vanilla. Not much in the way of multiple dimensions here. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with below average carbonation. I am now pretty sure that this beer is flat or old. Either way, quite disappointed. The flavour is similar to the aroma with a lot of roasted malts and bitter coffee notes hiding a weak vanilla and chocolate presence. I may try again down the road but this was a disappointment.

Can. Colour – a very dark brown pour, almost black. Head is creamy but thin. Lacing is minimal. Aroma – coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malt are the strongest aromatic notes with minor notes of vanilla and cherry. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, well carbonated. Flavour – a whole lot of coffee and chocolate with back notes of anise and vanilla. Would have been great had the body been heavier.

A very dark black stout with a creamy beige head. Muskoka has been known to be hit and miss on beers, and this is a miss in my opinion. It lacks balance. There is a lot of bitterness in the aroma with hints of coffee and roasted malt, but the flavour is a tad too sweet for a stout with fruity and milk chocolate notes…..but it isn’t a milk stout.

Pours a dark brown colour with rubu highlights and a big frothy mocha-coloured head, good retention and some foamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with some sweetness from the caramel malts. Hints of chocolate, coffee, spices, nuts and vanilla. Mouthfeel is a little oily, but overall wet. Flavours are not sweet like it seems it will be. Roasted malts well-balanced with hops. Mild bitterness and a shorter coffee finish. A stout that is quite easy to drink.

Pours a huge frothy tan head that sticks around for a while and has a very dark amber/ brown appearance. Some sticky lacing. Average carbonation. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee and hints of chocolate. Flavours are actually quite smokey, some more of the roasted malts, barley, coffee and hints of vanilla. Some spices as well but subtle. Somewhat of a watery mouthfeel. Not bad but missing a little something.
