Nose is a touch faint...but really nice. Malty biscuit pepper, some floral elements, maybe lavender. Clear pale copper body topped by a nice white had with good retention, nice lace and good skim coat. Mouth slightly thin, a bit too carbonated. Taste is a bit thin as well; everything muted. Needs more malt presence; hops bittering is about right for style, maybe a bit too sweet, just thin, no alcohol present. Majorly sessionable I suspect. No objectionable notes, just too timid.

A decent American style Pale Ale. A deep clear amber colour, with a thin cap that fades quickly. Lots of hops in the aroma balanced out by grainy malts. A sweet flavoured start with a nice bitter finish.

Disappointed, actually. I was hoping for a bit more and expecting at least some evidence of hops... I didn't get much in that department. Slightly more malty and just not that refreshing. Medium-bodied, no finish to speak of - other than it was done.

This beer had an aroma and look of any other pale ale but it was lacking in a hoppy after taste (not bitter at all). It also lost flavor as you swallowed and it had an almost watery taste. However this is a good pale ale for drinking out in the sun because of the lighter flavor.

Another decent brew by Highland. I noticed the lack of hops on this one as well. Had the typical appearance of a pale ale, golden-orange hazy color. Taste was on the sweeter side, sort of like a honey beer with slight hops. Was enjoyable, but a little different than most pale ales. Also noticed the same aftertaste as the highland oatmeal stout. Maybe some kind of extract they use? Tasty and refreshing and worth the try, but will probably move on to other things.

An amber colored beer upon pour. A small, frothy white head sits on top. But doesn’t stay around very long. There is a thin soapy film left. To the nose rises cereal grains and a floral of citrusy hops. The body is crisp and leads to a presentation of bitter, citrus and woodsy aftertaste. Not great, but certainly not bad. Very much a drinkable ale.

Thanks to bluesandbarbq for this one. Pours an amber/copper color with a very nice foamy off-white head, which settled down pretty quickly but I still got some decent lacing. Aroma is citrus grapefruit and hops. The flavor however is bready malts with some grapefruit hops showing in the middle then more malts in the finish. A bit more malty than I initially thought it was going to be. Overall pretty solid.

Thanks to bluesandbarbq, pours from the bottle with a light haze through a deep golden body. A full white bubbly head that disapates quickly leaving almost no lacing. A very pleasant aroma of floral hops with some citrus and biscuits. Smooth, clean mouthfeel, with flavors of mellow malt and the slightest bitter edge of piney hops. Finishes dry and bitter at first, but turns lightly sweet and soft. A tasty enjoyable brew.

Color is a golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is strong, malty, with some hop hints. Flavor is not strong, but refreshing, nice balance between maltiness and hop taste, some hop bitterness. Smooth, crisp, not exceptional but definitely worth a try.
