Sampled on 2/17/2011 on tap at Beer Revolution. This Barley Wine/American Strong Ale pours a medium brown color with some ruby highlights from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel, raisins, dates, wood and bourbon. A medium to full bodied Barley Wine. The malts are caramel, dark fruit, raisins and brown sugar. The hops are citrusy. Good carbonation. Nice wood and bourbon flavors. Very smooth tasting, very full and round mouthfeel. Touch of alcohol throughout. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a touch of alcohol. Love to be able to taste this one after some bottle aging.
