Drank some Stalwart Down by the River
A nice American Wheat Ale that is just enough hoppy to be very drinkable. I like it by the river.

Can that pours a hazy, light golden colour with a frothy-bubbly off-white cap, very long lasting, leaving foamy patches. Was expecting sweet aromas as a wheat beer, but the hops in this one seem to balanced this out nicely. Not too hoppy in the taste though, but just enough to go down well. Wheat is mild, and hop finish is blended good with bitterness and dryness. Some nice citrus and grassy notes. This is nice.

Drank some Beyond The Pale Long Dark Night - A Darkness Story
Wow ! The Darkness, but lagered instead. Quite a nice Oatmeal Stout all around.

Can that pours a real dark brown colour with a little copper highlights. The head is warm mocha-coloured, frothy, with decent stay and some creamy lacing. Roasted malt aromas with hints of coffee and chocolate. The hops are present in the flavours, but milder than most of their beers, creating a nice dry finish that helps the drinkability. Roasted malt again, lighter coffee and a tad of molasses, dark fruits. A very nice take on the original The Darkness, which has the alcohol content, but easier to drink. This is quite good !

This is a canned tripel, isn’t that sacrilegious? Anyway, it pours a light honey gold with a medium sized rocky head. The head stays a while and laces well. The aroma is sweet grains, light citrus, light yeast, seasonal spices and honey. Mouthfeel is creamy and full bodied. This is a sweeter beer than a lot of Belgian tripels, yet still finishes with a bitter hop crush. A very good beer.

A little bit of Belgium in New York. A straw gold colour, murky, and topped with a snow white head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is wheat, coriander, light bubble gum, and citrus. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is dominated by the malted wheat and barley, but the spices and citrus can be detected in the finish.

The beer pours a light rusty red, slightly hazy, with plenty of effervescence leading to a frothy white cap. The aroma is bready malt, light citrus, floral hops, and yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. The flavor is malt forward, not a lot of flavor coming from the hops

Reviewed the beer Allagash White
Allagash is one of those breweries that doesn’t brew to style, but rather interprets them as they see fit. Loved by most, but not by me. The beer pours a cloudy pale yellow with a thick creamy off-white cap. The aroma is wheat, coriander, cloves, and banana. Again, typical for the style. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is more spice forward than a typical witbier, and in this case, that’s a good thing.
