The pint poured with a disappointing appearance for an altbier, weak initial head and lacing after the amber pour. The aroma was tough to pick up, more caramel than anything. The flavor was caramel with a noticeable touch of wheat character, and a slight nutty presence at higher temperatures. Gentle hop finish, but together with the wheat this finished a bit dry. A pretty enjoyable beer overall, but within the alt category more malt and more hops is my preference, as this came across a little thin/water relative to the best in the style. This gets props for being really drinkable overall and quite tasty.

Man, it's nice trying a very fresh altbier, and on cask at that! Came a dark murky copper with a thick creamy head. Aroma was light caramel, some breadiness, and grassy hops. Flavor starts with some very mild sweetness, then dries out quickly with some breadiness, and some of them tettnang hops. Grassy and lightly floral hops finish out the flavor. Very good stuff, great on cask.
