Oregon Golden Ale is the original Rogue brew dating back to 1988 and the days of the old Ashland brewpub location (which was destroyed by a flood several years ago). Deep golden in color with a rich malty aroma. Delicately smooth and crisp flavor and an herbal finish. Oregon Golden Ale is created from Northwest Harrington and Klages, and Maier Munich Malts (18% speciality grains, .19 lbs grain per bottle). Kent Golding and Cascade hops. Oregon Golden Ale is available in a 22-ounce bottle (the 12-ounce 6-pack is being phased out in early 2005), and on draft. Measurements: 13 degrees Plato, IBU 35, Apparent Attenuation 77, Lovibond 10. Shark Tooth Ale is a special 2001 bottling (22 ounce) of Rogue's Oregon Golden Ale. Enjoy this crisp, cool ale with a hoppy bite. Brewed in the Oregon Coast to the highest standards. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this ale supports the Oregon Coast Aquarium and its mission to expand our understanding of the oceans. For info on the OCA (OCA is where Free Willy, aka Keiko, was rehabilitated before his return to Iceland!), visit aquarium.org. If you visit Newport, the Aquarium is just down the street from Rogue's brewery at the Marina.

Bottled. Ambery golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some nectar, grass, floral hops and mild herbal notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild toasted and earthy notes.

Its a bronzy color with a good head. Flavors of caramel malt, toasty hay, grapefruit. Flavorful taste with a contrasting light mellow finish and mild bitterness.... Mouthfeel is light with fine bubbles and very smooth and refreshing

I LIKE ROGUE, BUT THIS IS ALL THAT GREAT. IT'S BLONDE COLOR WITH A GOOD SIZE HEAD. IT HAS A WHEATY TASTE WITH HINTS OF SOMETHING NATUREY, LIKE PINE AND SAP. IT HAS HINTS OF SPICES.

Bottle courtesy of Okbeer: Poured a deep golden color ale with a nice medium foamy head with some quite good retention and some really good lacing. Aroma of cascade hops is providing some floral notes as well as some medium bitterness. Taste is mostly dominated by the mix of hops and I thought was lacing some malt characteristics. Body is not as full as I would have expected with some great carbonation. I personally think that this beer could have been more rewarding with a bigger malt profile.

Eh, I'd call it more of a misguided pale ale than a blonde ale, but regardless it seemed unbalanced...and to the malty side, no less. How unRogue is that? The cascade bitterness and willamette aromatics peeked through beyond the base and munich malts, however, it just didn't work together. Dark gold body and no foam despite the carbonation. Eh, it just didn't work, but that happens sometimes...

Labeled Sharktooth Ale. Pour was straw colored, decent head. The flavor was that of citrus and floral hops. The flavor was citrusy, a touch of caramel and some toast/breadiness, but very, very little bitterness. In flavor it reminded me of an ESB that has been surgically debittered. Very drinkable with a pretty soft, creamy mouthfeel. It left me hankering for more hops, though. This beer is quite the tease!

this one surprised me, better then i thought. Poured a nice dark yellow color with pretty head which laced fairly well. Aroma was nice and floral and hoppy. Flave was very well balanced of hops and malts. Over all good beer.

Labelled as Shark Tooth Ale, Bomber. Hazy orange, low creamy head. Fresh fruity aroma of mango, honey and grassy hops. Flavour of honey, caramel and lemon. Fairly light body. Dry grassy bitter finish.

Another one of Rogue's brews that doesn't quite get the due it deserves. Pours a honey color with an impressive white head that lasts through the whole beer adn leaves a nice lace down the side of the glass. Smells very floral with some sweet malt. Taste is crisp. Cascade hops definately make an appearance but it's not overly hoppy by a long shot. It's mostly floral. Plenty of hops sweetness. Mouthfeel is very full and has a hint of a mineral feel to it. Drinkabilty rates high as I'll definately be having more of these.

I had an odd experience with this beer. I popped the cap and the head wouldn't stop coming out of the bottle. I was going to just take this one out of the bottle, but I ended up pouring it anyway to keep from having to clean up a mess from the ever-increasing head. Even after poured, it took a bit for it to stop increasing. Good beer though. Not much special, but I'd very likely buy it again.
