04.26.05 12oz bottle thanks to MrFacto. Lightly hazed orange-golden brew with little head that quickly flees. Aroma is full of apples, bubblegum, sweetness akin to Goya nectars, light yeast, light (if any) alcohol, lots of peach, light winterberry. Emmensely full bodied for an American tripel, even if it is handcrafted in the Monastic tradition, I like that. Spicey on the palate as well, and finishing a bit thick and unctuous. Not so much dry, perhaps a fair alcohol spice remains, but this seems to have been around a while. Time has been good to this one, it seems, as the alcohol is mostly mellow and the fruits are even and sweet. Thanks for the treat, Matt!

as the beer warms I can’t help but notice some nut and coffee notes emerging(?) What’s up with that? Maybe not so much coffee, but a caramelized, kind of burnt thing. Whatever it is, it certainly detracts slightly from what was turning out to be a nice sipper. (orig score:8/3/8/4/15)

Pours nicely with a small white head. Nice amber/golden color. Feels a little heavy in the mouth. Sweet with slight fruit undertone. Alcohol flavor a little heavy. I'm not a big fan of tripels, but this one is drinkable.

Poured a golden color with a small white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of musty caramel, butterscotch, yeast, and light citrus. Taste of citrus, caramel malts, yeast and a touch of alcohol.

From the bottle, this pours with almost no head and a light amber and red color. The aromas are fairly light for a tripel. I detect notes of brown sugar, tart apples, nectarines and a caramel undertone. The taste is very interesting. Notes of coffee, apple pie and cinnamon. This does have a slight tea quality. Has a spicy cinnamon finish on the palate. An alcohol bite hits you by the end of the glass. Can hold its own with its competition. I wished they distributed in Iowa!

Bottle: Poured a flat light golden colored beer with literally no head and almost no carbonation. Aroma is quite sweet, almost like pure candi sugar, which is not my cup of tea. Taste was very very sweet, again pure candi sugar sweet with no spices that could be really identified. Wow, I cannot even taste any yeast because of all the sugar. I’m now left wondering if this was a bad bottle or just not my type of tripel.

An orange appearance with a rather large head. I think they missed the mark just slightly with this beer. A huge lemon flavor is present. The alcohol really shows through and the sweetness is a bit overbearing. It was ok but I find myself not really being into the Tripels lately.

kinda has a dark amber look to it, has a nice white head, and a definate citrus, white citrus aroma to it, add that to some light body and thats what ya get, not bad.

This tripel pours with a clear orange gold body topped by a thin white head with some lacing. The aroma is sweet and candy like with a slight tomato note and a touch of yeast. The flavor is sweet and malty with a touch of candy and a little tomato. Meidum bodied, relatively smooth and slightly dry.
