Had many of these in Cuba (how can you not). Pours a big foamy white head but goes away pretty quickly. Has a straw coloured appearance. Moderate carbonation. Aromas are very grainy and malty. Light grassy notes. Flavours are similar to aromas, not much variation. Dry mouthfeel. Seems like a pale imitation of Bud but still more enjoyable than a Coors Light I would say. Perfect hot sunny beach drink in Cuba, probably nowhere else.

It’s because of the weather and location associated with this the score is what it is. Clear yellow, white foam and it smells and taste like cheap beer. Cheers (Havana 201701)

Can, ABV 4.9%, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Pale golden colour, low head. Sickly aroma of over-boiled vegetables and wet cardboard, some sweetish maize notes. Boring pale lager flavour, some sweetish maize notes.

These were on sale at the liquor store recently. Apparently they will no longer be carried by the LCBO in Ontario. So, I thought I would try it and get a new country on my list. This was a beautiful clear golden colour with a nice fluffy white head straight out of the bottle. The aroma was weak and Budweiserish. It was watery on the tongue, even the carbonation seemed lacking. And the taste? What taste? No discernable beer flavour in these bottles. Maybe they were poor sellers.

clear, bright golden with a medium white head. a decent amount of retention that leaves a light coating of lacing on the glass. watery, a little too malty and a touch of grain. forbidden in the states- hope big brother doesn't catch you drinking it!

Pale yellow colour, small (almost non-existant) white head. Citrus, hops and malts in aroma. Flavour is the same. A rather clean one, and refreshing. Definitively a good choice once the summer is here again...

Typical of swill from the caribbean. Yellow body, no head. Tastes best ice cold. Warm it is undrinkable as the corn and vegetable tastes can be overpowering. This should be drank only when one is in cuba because there is little else to choose from and it's cheap. Great to pound back ice cold from one of the roadside vendors in Havana or Varedero

ahhhh Cristal my long lost friend. I really enjoyed this beer on the warm beaches of Cuba when I was there. I prefer it to many of the beers from the Caribbean but it isn't anything special.

What I found the worst of the bad. Woo EE! Terribly skunked (green bottle, go figure!)
(re-review)* After my second sampling, I am happy to raise my grades significantly. Still a below average beer, but by all means quite like every other below average beer. So, ya! Somewhat refreshing, but so is water. I wouldnt trust this one, seems inconsistent.
