The beer poured a solid black with a long lasting thin brown ring serving as a cap. Lacing was generous. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, and licorice. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation, a bit light bodied for a porter. The flavour was smoked wood, roasted malt, coffee, and hints of sweet plums. An excellent tasting beer.
