an average beer like any other mas consumed American lager The novelty is very much in the name. Besides what else can you expect from a beer where they all put the yeast in! NYUK NYUK NYUK"

a thin beer that smells of cereal with a little cheap beer too. Not skunky, so not horrible, but a pretty poor beer overall. great name and bottle, though!

It gets a 10 overall, because of the name, other than that, no It's not something I'd drink all the time. The flavor is like that of a budweiser. the mouthfeel, is like a club soda.

My sample came from Panther's Canadian franshise brewer; Lakeport in Hamilton and was 5% ABV and made with Canadian barley malt. Like most, I came at this beer from a bad perspective to begin with, so please hear me out there’s a moral here. I love the stooges OK. I’m also a bottle collector so this beer’s novelty packaging is must have stuff for me. So I got a six pack for my collection and it sat for some time ‘til I was completely out of beer. Unfortunately this occurred just before I ended up on a 4 hr push session on a finicky Harley on a hot spring day. I got in tired and dying of thirst. I head for the Stooges beer and put one in the freezer for a fast (I know, I know… bad brew Karma) chill. After I got the dead bike stowed, I headed for that beer with all the primal needs of a beerless Homer on a forced desert march, BUT, I expected it to be undrinkable drek like most of the Lakeport swill I have had. I was absolutely amazed at the way this beer went down; no rough tastes or sharp edges, indicative of cheap ingredients or sloppy process. Nope, this was one hell of a good thirst quenching beer! I figure NO body would ever consider me seriously if I rated this novelty “stooge” beer as on par with the best national Canuck brands. I also doubted my senses. Liking novelty beer from a notoriously bad brewer made no sense to me. I thought I was suffering from Hot-day-cold-beer-any-port-in-a-storm syndrome. I had to retry the experiment in a more controlled situation. I bought a new 6pack of Stooges and sat down to test it against Blue, Canadian and Kokanee. Results: color: ranges from light straw to gold depending on which end of the Pilsner glass you’re looking at. Head medium and disappears to a fine lace quickly. Smell: very subtle, slight sweet musty, and grainy- malty smells. Palate: Nice reception, not dry not bold. Exceedingly smooth blend of grains, malt, slight hops….but all very subdued (cold lagered fer sure). Finish: crisp with absolutely no after taste. This s a comercial beer drinker’s beer of the best quality and process. Canadian and Blue are fast spin patio piss up beers. Kokanee and Stooges will stand the test of stand alone drinkability. As an American lager, this beer’s quality puts it in the top 3 macros. I like it. It takes a lot to impress me with the rivers of beer I’ve sampled. This is a very unexpected surprise! Try this beer! Do it in the right frame of reference and you will be pleasantly surprised. The Moral: Never judge a book by it’s cover and never believe an old malt hound can’t be impressed. Stooges has lager quality. That “soitenly serves duty and humanity” Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck

Last night was the annual Foam On The Brain (homebrew club) Holiday Beer Exchange, where everybody brings a mixed six-pack holder full of interesting beers, and draw numbers to grab singles off of the table, until everybody has a full mixed six-pack full again. There are always awesome beers at this event, and there are also a few joke beers. This, for obvious reasons, falls into the later category. So when the exchange was nearly completed, it came down to me grabbing either a Bud Light, or this particular beer. In retrospect, I think I might have been better off with the Bud Light!

But seriously, this isn't horrible -- just horribly boring and dull. Tastes like it was a decent enough Lager (Helles maybe?), that was diluted in the conditioning tank 1:3.

Adequate appearence, with even a decent amount of lacing. But with a very nuetral aroma, and bland-as-bland-can-be "flavor" (nod-nod, wink-wink), there is really no use for a beer of this sort.

Probably the greatest thing since sliced bread for bottle and/or Stooge collectors, but very sub-par beer-wise. Next....

no way. in all the times I've drank this, didn't know Matts made it. nothing great here in taste, sweet and no real hops. but it's neat to drink at a gathering cause of the bottle.

I give it respect for the name, but not for the taste.

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.....gotta love the bottle if you are a Three Stooges fan (and it does make a good gift...thanks, Upstate Dave!). There isn't much aroma, but the golden appearance and lacing is nice. The taste is good and there is a nice carbonated feel to the beer.

Pours a golden color with no head what so ever. Sweet corn aroma. Sweet and watery taste. I wasn’t expecting much, but this was really bad.
