This saison was brewed with honey sourced from mango trees from the recipient of a microloan. Valentin owns a small apiary in the Dominican Republic, and was able to expand his business thanks to a microloan. History lesson: Farmhouse Ales were brewed during the summertime months in France and Belgium. To quench their thirsts, farmers would drink these low abv, flavorful and slightly funky brews to stay hydrated. Call 'em 18th century sports drinks if you will. Or not, that's cool too. Going with Monday Night tradition, we decided to take this classic style and give it our own spin. You'll get those classic citrusy farmhouse ale/saison notes, but adding Motueka hops delivers an extra element of spiciness. Plus, a late addition of honey provides a touch of sweetness in the back.

Pours hazy apricot with a thin but serviceable ivory head. Aroma presents honey, fresh malt and fruity notes. Flavor is somewhat sweet, honey and fruity tones with an underpinning of malt. Texture features fair body and fizz. A honey of a saison.
