We aged this saison in second use bourbon barrels for almost two years, over time turning it into something truly unique. Father Figure is a beer that demands your respect. From humble beginnings as a saison comes a dark, barrel-aged ale exhibiting a mosaic of flavors. Oak and vanilla notes work alongside toasty, dark chocolate undertones. Pours translucent cola brown with a fairly thick buff head that leaves heavy lacing. Aroma offers bourbon, dark fruit, woody, chocolate, and roast malt character. Flavor yields a cascade of different flavors: bourbon-soaked wood, chocolate, roast malt, tart dark fruit, a hint of vanilla. More than a hint of sweet vanilla. Texture presents fair body and lively fizz. Enjoy with your father figure.
