Outrageously hoppy and classically bitter, Boxing Bruin is a true IPA. Five unique hops and a touch of Belgian Candi Syrup create a burst of vibrant tropical aromas and flavours of lime, mango, and lychee. The body is smooth with focused bitterness and a refreshing finish.

Pours a hazed golden-orange colour with a smaller warm head, mid-stay and some light lacing. Aromas of citrus with lots of oranges at first, but then some diacetyl action comes along. Could be just a boost of caramel malt in the back, but feels buttery as well. I will let this slide as the taste is quite good and not showing the butterscotch notes. Just nicely juicy, kind of New England style IPA. Not too bitter, but well-dried. Pretty good overall.

The beer pours a hazy medium gold colour with absolutely no head. The aroma was papaya, mango, grass, and some mustiness. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with below average carbonation. The flavour was pretty one dimensional with the grass notes up front and the tropical fruit hop flavours in back. Not a lot of bitterness and not a lot of depth.
