Pours a dark brown/black color with a foamy medium tan head that leaves sheets of lacing on my glass. Aromas of roasted malt are augmented with coffee, chocolate and earthy hops. The taste begins with the roasted malt, some chocolate and coffee before the hops show up and start to steal the show until the roasted malt overtakes them and flashes a hint of vanilla on the finish. Mouthfeel is full and has a bit of creaminess to it. I previously have had beers that were done in collaboration with Mikerphone that were very good. A pleasant surprise.
