Didn't get the full sample, but basically like a winter-warmer/spiced-strong ale. Little too many flavors going on to pinpoint all that's there. This style is usually too sweet for me to want to drink a lot of it. Good for sharing a big bottle at a holiday office party.

A spicy nose, like cinnamon disk candies. More comes out in the back of the nose, bread and sweet malt. A dark brown pour, minimum head, some chill haze. Cinnamon and beer flavors, roast at the end, quite thick and sweet. I normally don't like cinnamon at all but this works quite well, nice balance. Thanks Lou, this is one of a kind.

Pours clean and dark amber, with a moderate tan head. Aroma is, to me, not very noticable. Flavor is complex; starts out a bit sweet, then hop complexity comes in. Finishes a bit on the bitter side to my taste. Good thick mouth feel.

This ale pours a deep brown with hunts of roasted malt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Body is a bit thin but not too bad...just doesn't quite support the favors enough. Overall, a decent spiced ale for a nice spring day. Shared at a birthday party- thanks Lou.

Big thanks to brother Lou for sending me this one right before Christmas. Tasty beer! Pours a deep mahogany, lots of carbonation. Aroma is pleasent, with spicy nose, bready malts and some other sweet undertone. Taste is equally as pleasant if not more so. Nutmeg, brown sugar and carrot cake flavors.

Hearty bakers spice mixture found within a medium bodied malty sweet brew. A touch of noble hops to counter the sweetness. Clear, sparkling amber copper pour with a sizable head and good lacing. Along the lines of most spiced Winter ales. Very tasty, thanks to Louis for shipping this just in time for Christmas.

Beer 2 of my 12 Beers of Christmas 2011: dark ruby brown pour with a tight and short off white head, reducing to a constant cap and ring, little lacing. Roasted malty spicy aroma with a touch of candied nuts, very slight roasted peaches and cinnamon, very light earthy hops, very slight brandy. Very warming and flavorful: sweet spiced malts, like a spicy Christmas cookie, a bit of this and a bit of that, nuts, light ripe fruits, again a touch of cooked peaches, brown sugar, booze. Very nice Christmas beer from SweetWater - great for Beer 2. Loved it.

Pours a very dark brown or perhaps even black with a very slight head and scant lacing. The flavor was the highlight of the experience with dark roasted malt and a nice winter spice flavor without being obnoxious.

Did not know what to expect but am a fan of all thinks Sweetwater so I tried it. There was not much of a smell but I got a hint of spice, it poured redish brown with a little head that hung around. THe flavor was I have to say a malty and spicy as it went down but it finished a little hoppy. Another good beer by Sweetwater.

Tried at the brewery. Aroma of mostly yeast, with a slight head and decent lacing. Medium bodied and easy to drink, but the initial flavor was of spices and not quite my favorite. Finish was good with a yeast malt flavor.
