http://www.destihlbrewery.com/Wild_Sour_Series_2.html Flanders Red is an acidic, sour ale with an initial impression of tart cherries and sour candy that dissipates into a complex palate displaying both a sharp lactic sourness with a backbone of caramel and biscuit malt profiles and minimal hop character. The dry, wine-like finish accentuates the complex malt profile and bright fruit notes showcased in this brilliant red colored hybrid of a modern Flanders and German-style sour.

Light opaque yellow, no foam remaining. Sour aroma, sour apples. Sour taste, you have to get used to this, Geueze the American way, nice. (Dallas 201505)

12 oz can. Pours very hazy reddish amber with a big fizzy light tan head that quickly diminishes and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is sweet pie cherries with some wood notes and tartness and a little funk.

The flavor is sweet cherries and caramel malts with tart vinegary sourness and some woody funk. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.

Overall, a bit one dimensional with the sweet and tart cherries, but I enjoyed it.

A brownish colored beer with a reddish tint. A two fingered sudsy textured off white colored head rising above. Not much hang time on the head. An incomplete thin ringlet is left. Vinegary sourness in the nose. Lip smacking sourness, just as I like this style.
