We are proud to announce the launch of a new, limited edition beer: La Résolution, a strong spiced ale on lees. La Résolution is a special brew, available for a limited time only. This high end dark ale was inspired by a recipe our brew master Jerry Vietz concocted for his friends. "I wanted to offer my guests a spicy ale with fine bubbles, a rich, persistent head and a full, flavourful taste experience." At 10% alcohol, its spicy caramel aroma evolves on the palate into pleasant and complex notes of toffee with reminiscence of a tasty gingerbread. Its perfect balance between spicy, caramel and roasted malt flavours is complemented by a nice roundness and persistent finish. This special brew will no doubt be the perfect addition to your the Holiday season! According to Sylvain Bouchard, our beer sommelier, "La Résolution is the perfect match for spicy dishes. It's an excellent complement for cheese fondue, not only as a pairing, but also to adjust the consistency of the cheese mixture. Its festive character makes it the ideal beer to accompany gingerbread or carrot cake." La Résolution will be available across Canada in a 750 ml bottle format, while supplies last. All the more reason not to wait for the New Year to decide on a resolution!

Pours coffee brown with a thick, almost Guinness-like fine-bubbled tan head that leaves very generous lacing. Aroma features firm roast malt, fruity, caramel and nutty notes. Scrumptious flavor presents pleasing roast malt, fruity, hard candy, caramel, nutty - and is that peppermint? - notes. Viscous body has some good fizz, leaving a sweet but not cloying finish.

750ml corked and caged wine bottle. Mahogany-hued pour under three fingers of an enduring, creamy beige head. Malt forward aroma, along with spices and also somewhat boozy. Slick mouthfeel. Flavour not unlike the aroma, with malt, spices, dark fruit and the alcohol. Sweet finish. If Unibroue did a barleywine, this would be almost it.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Pours a murky deep, dark brown with a tall, voluminous tan head. Aroma is strong ginger, burnt caramel, spices and hints of pipe tobacco. Taste is gingerbread cookies, burnt caramel, spices, toffee, chocolate graham crackers, hints of dark fruit and toasted malt. Body is medium with a strong, bubbly and prickly carbonation. Light lingering spice notes to this as well. Ends with more spices, slightly burnt gingerbread cookies, chocolate graham crackers, caramel, light toffee and toasted malt. Nice!

Pours a huge frothy beige head and has a murky dark brown appearance. Thick patchy lacing. Aromas of light malts, earthy hops and strong yeast notes. Flavours are fairly malty, some nutty and toasty notes. Earthy and spice hops. Sweet malts as well as hints of caramel and raisins. Lively carbonation. Full bodied mouthfeel. Seems suspiciously like most high abv Unibroue beers, with the strong alcohol content goes down very well and is quite enjoyable. Good stuff!!

Never had a spiced beer with such defined flavours without being over powering. Never good with aroma but, yeast and spice. Flavour in no particular order.... banana, nutmeg, clove, Belgium yeast, fruits, caramel, cinnamon, ginger, molasses, alcohol ( we all like that stuff) Medium to full slither smooth mouthfeel. I'll take this over Christmas cake any day.

The beer pours a slightly hazed brownish-red with a thick creamy tan coloured cap. The aroma is dark malt, plums, molasses, brown sugar, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is nutmeg/cinnamon, roasted malt, plums, yeast, and caramel. Love the flavour!

Nice different label-style painted on their typical big brown bottles. Pours an amber-red colour, hazy, with a big light-mocha coloured head, great retention and some thick foamy lace. Dark fruit aromas (prunes, dates, cherries) with caramel, nutty yeast and hints of mint. The caramel is more apparent in the taste with still minty hops. The dark fruits are covered by the yeast and some spices. Been a while since I had a good Unibroue like this one. Keep these coming !
