This limited release, rich Scotch Ale has been matured in specially selected casks from each of the five whisky-producing regions of Scotland. Carefully monitoring the development of the maturing casks, our brewers have blended beer from each of the regions together to achieve a really balanced, complex amber ale with layers of delicate aroma and flavour. We think the results are rather good – a singular brew that showcases the signature styles of Scotland’s malt whisky highlands and heartlands.

Good looking pour, I think, despite what givemebeer thinks, clear and dark amber-hued pour under a brief ivory head, with just a hint of lacing. Obvious whiskey notes in the aroma, with lesser notes of caramel. Flavour had whiskey at the forefront, usual I&G malt sweetness, thankfully not to the point of being cloying, always an issue with their beer, along with breadiness and brown sugar. Mouthfeel nicely smooth, almost syrupy. Sweet finish, but within reason. I quite liked this one.

In my opinion Innis & Gunn have no clue how to brew a presentable looking beer. Irish cask being the best I've had to date. Aroma and flavour are way too sweet. Lots of vanilla and toffee, biscuit malt, almonds, and mild oranges. Don't taste any peat and where's the malt whiskey. Thin to medium mouthfeel. 7.4 % alcohol well hidden. Again, way too sweet.
